Had a couple of hours in the garage earlier and got a few jobs done.
Did the rear brake lines from the master cylinder to the bulkhead fitting and fitted the throttle cable as it's a lot easier to do before fitting the engine
Then I have dropped the engine and gearbox back in as my brother...
Had a sort out of a load of stuff and tidied up my garage so I can assemble some more bits in there and store my seats etc safely.
Also moved the engine and gearbox to the car so once I have swopped the pedal box to the one with cable throttle and fitted the new braided line from the m/c to the...
Sunroof problems are common, firstly check the drains are clear in the sunroof, they are holes I'm the front corners of the sunroof - you will need to pop the glass out to check properly.
If they are clear, then you will probably need a new seal kit fitting. Think they are just over £200 but it...
Tonight job was fitting the alternator and a few other bits.
I took the bracket into work and it met with the bandsaw and sander so it's a bit neater without the pas pump on it
Card and tank tape is the new MSA ruling, bit of extra protection to go with the window film. I am finding the brown a bit dark so may switch to white to brighten it up
Cheers Dan!
I've got to do it, I'm 40 this year and I've got a couple of boxes that I want to tick.
After this, I will be looking at doing something else with my boys as they are growing up fast.
Yes, it's the one I was using in my old sprint car. You had the original box that I replaced with the gripper box.
Yeah, I want to concentrate on trying to do some rallies this year, although I will probably still go to a few sprints and hillclimbs to watch my brother in his Mazda
Tonight's job - finish wrapping the 182 manifold
100ft of 1" wide exhaust wrap and about 4 hours in total (whilst watching TV at the same time)
Crappy job but it's done now and should reduce a fair bit of heat from the engine bay.
I may as well try and start a bit of a build thread for my Clio stage rally car.
A few of you know that I was competing in Sprints and hillclimbs in my original cup car and had some pretty good results in 2014. I had a lot of fun with quite a few class wins, 1 track record (Wigan), 2nd overall...
Sealant is there just to stick the door card on, not to seal leaks.
If the door is leaking into the car, it will be because the drain holes in the bottom of the door are blocked and it's overflowing and ending up in the car
Steve Quigley Car 20 was 5th overall
Robinson car 96 was 10th overall.
Love to know the spec of car 96 (already know car 20, it's been on here a while back)
Nothing really, but I was lucky enough to get the one off @sam JFM which is a moulded fibreglass one.
Basically someone has just layered fibreglass over a plastic fuel tank including the mounting points so it just bolts on with the fuel tank. Very neat and tidy.
Cheers Rich, that was my first ever weekend at Prescott so I was still learning it. It was good to get so close to Dave West in his 106 considering he's been there for years. Doubtful I will be there again as I've sold that Clio now and I'm building a rally car version instead.
Carbontec Poland do a lovely kevlar one.
Renault one fine for keeping gravel from the engine, but unlikely that it will take any abuse from rallying.
I made a 10mm alloy guard for when I was doing road rallies as the Welsh whites ain't exactly smooth, so will probably use that again on mine...
I remember that 206 shell there too. It was awful considering they were trying to advertise the new challenge with it.
Pretty sure everyone who looked at it commented about the crap welding.
@sam JFM your 206 is coming on well.
My clio is making slow progress
Love to have reiger but way out of my budget, just going to use Bilstein b14 with pms solid mount and brace and pms reinforced rear beam.
What box are you using?
Did lights go dim before it cut out?
Could be alternator failure, which meant it ran on battery until power got too low. Click is just starter clicking as not enough power.
