How many miles has your Clio done ?

Not really, just a missfire but new leads cured that. Just upgrading the suspension and stuff now to replace the original tired stuff. Its now a road rally / track / Hillclimb / sprint toy.

    172 cup Brake compensator valve

Ive got no braking to the osr wheel so when I do jump hard on the brakes the other 3 wheels are braking then the NSF wheel will lock up as extra pressure goes to that wheel. That compensator thingy by the rear beam is off to the bin and the lines will be coming inside with a bios valve and maybe...

Insuring a track car as 2nd car?

My Clio is insured with David Auden insurance as a modified vehicle, all bits and pieces declared and also covers me for road rallies and its £375 tpft Not sure if they cover just track cars though but might be worth a call.

    Black wheel bolts

Could well have been Runcorn Anodizers. I think from Chester you turn off the motorway towards the blue bridge down to the roundabout with the part time traffic lights and I think you turn off there down to an ind est and it was on the right. (it was a good 10 yrs ago though)

    Black wheel bolts

Used to machine truck wheel studs and they needed this kind of coating, used to use a company by Runcorn that used to dip them in some chemicals abd make them black. In one of the top pics, have you heated the bolt up and then dipped it in used engine oil to achieve the black effect? That is a...

Does anyone fancy cleaning my car??? (lols inside)

removing power steering in a 172 cup?

My rally cars were 205's and PAS wins every time! PAS rack is also a quicker rack too. I also tried a proper non PAS quickrack which wasnt any quicker than the PAS rack and it was seriously heavy especially with some sticky tyres on it. Also got a standard 205 on the drive and thankfully that...

removing power steering in a 172 cup?

Im sure its great if you want to give your arms a workout and come off the track knackered. I have had rally cars in the past with no PAS and its a nightmare and no real benefit. PAS all the way!

    172 Sump Guard

Pretty much!! Good classic Welsh road rally farm yards, forestry roads, and the roughest 'whites' that organisers can find and say they are smooth! Ive split too many sumps in the past, so rather have no worries with a 10mm guard.

    172 Sump Guard

That one in the pic above would be rammed through my sump on the first rough 'white' on a road rally, not to mention the mud and crap going through the holes.

    172 Sump Guard

Ive got a 10mm thick alloy one for my car that my mate made. Its still a bit heavy but I have given it a proper beating and still hardly marked it. Its got 4 metal threaded blocks welded onto the subframe that it bolts onto and spaces it down a bit. Cost £30 for the materials.

Do you ever forget how fun they are?

Every car I have gets a regular beasting, I dont see the point if having a quick car without releasing its potential on a regular basis - I kinda thought I would have grown up by now and have a dull boring sensible economical car but wheres the fun in that!

SUSPENSION LIFT OPTIONS FOR A CLIO???????

Depends on how much you want to lift it really as all the suspension geometry will change the higher you go. If you just wanted to go up a bit, fit the springs and dampers off a Clio Diesel model as they are probably going to be stiffer and a bit longer than the ones already on your car (its...
