Im 19 with 2 years ncb and it cost me £1681 for the year. I know there's a lot of people who will moan and argue and say things like 'how can you spend that much on insurance? its stupid', but i don't care. Ive had my 1.2 for 2 years and always had my heart set on a 197, now ive got one. Dont...
Swapped it for the 197 this morning. The 197 feels so much nicer to drive! But it'll not match the quirkyness of the little 1.2...
I LOVE MY 197!
and i still love my old 1.2
I found the picture of the schlong... from one of the other interesting things that had happened
Serviced the car, then a couple weeks later at a meet I just happened to lift the bonnet and find the oil filler cap was missing!
No idea how long it was off for but it lost hardly any oil in it :D
Before you assume things, no I haven't written it off, i've px'd it in for a 197
Right, where to begin.
Just before I passed my test in December 2007, I was looking for a Clio as my first car (always wanted one, never really knew why). Anyway, this one came up on eBay as an auction, not...
£5,500 + My 1.2 on px
They had it up for £7k, so i'm pretty happy with it considering its pretty much mint condition, and my 1.2 has just gone over 100k on it
Thanks for all the comments guys, appreciate it.
When i've picked the car up and removed the stripes then i'll get some more pics up and put them in the media section :P
I've completely forgotten that it's new year now, just excited about picking the car up on monday!
Would have gotten it...
I think it looks alright, I personally would prefer to have them in anthracite (dark grey).
The one thing I don't like about black wheels on a black car is that what people neglect to do is keep the tyres dressed, and can make them look really tatty.
There are a few examples on the forum...
Saw you near the little bridge, you waved at me :D
I was the guy in the 197 with trade plates haha, test driving it... and now it's mine
Ive seen you a few times before but youve ignored me in my 1.2, but i cant say im surprised ;)
I know what you're trying to say but that can happen to anybody. Its not as if i've only been driving the 1.2 clio, ive had quite a few hire cars through work which wernt exactly slow.
I dont intend on driving like a maniac either :P
Also, found the ad on his website for it...
Just made the jump from a 1.2 up to a 197 :D

Im looking at getting an RS too at 19.
Currently £900 on a 1.2 (mods declared).
Insurance is looking at around £1600 for a 197 with Elephant for me
I got 2 years no claims too
Re: My Clio Mk3 1.2 172 Replica
Don't worry about it, lots of people make the same mistake ;)
For future reference: http://clioguide.tk/
Car looks good though, personally I wouldn't have the sport badge on its own on the rear or the lights, otherwise it looks awesome. You've definately put...
Id say a Black MG ZR
The back looks pretty identical, and it also has the silver bullet on the side
Also, the 1.4 litre one has half leather interior, 17 inch alloys and 105bhp :P, all matching to the description on ebay
