Yeah just left it on and covered everything up around it etc. As Greeny says the original gasket should be fine.

Due to the severe boredom of the holidays i decided to begin cleaning up the engine bay. Thanks to the rain i only managed the inlet plenum and rocker cover done, still need to do the fuel rail guard and mount + a general clean. Happy with the results, gets rid of the oil and grease...

Behind the oil cap, pretty sure the vvt cable plugged in to it? Is it safe to just pull out? Just making sure there's no 'special' way it's to be put back in? Yes I'm a noob, all this effort to paint!
