I out grew my Tamrac Adventure 7 recently, so i went for another crumpler (had a prettyboy xl when i had my D40). This time its the larger "Loyal Chap", not huge, but can fit a considerable amount of kit in. I was going to go for a Geekstar, but i think it was just too big.
Behold, a secret...
Sigma 100-300mm F4 DG. Heavy beast, used my 10% off voucher on ebay and saved £45! After a teleconverter next and I'm ready for Mallory Park testing in 2 weeks time.
I had my weekend test drive of the new Megane this weekend, not bad, fairly dull run of the mill family car tbh. Also took a couple of the father in laws Jag to try and sell. Shot in RAW, adjusted in photoshop CS4. Not as sharp as they should be, as i left the camera in MF - what a school boy!
Popped down to Mallory park today, testing for the plum pudding races on boxing day. Great circuit, will definately be spending a lot of time there next year - its only 10 mins away from me!
Met up with my sister today in oxford and took a few quick pics. I'd love to spend a bit more time there as there is some very impressive architecture. There is a bit of processing on some to try and improve on the overexposed skys.
Got my D90 today, and I've noticed some nasty wavy lines on the video mode when shooting indoor.

Looks like its a problem with neon lights (50hz) and 24fps.
Just ordered one from jessops - managed to get them to price match with an online retailer and got it for £599 & free delivery.
I've sold a fair bit of kit to make way for this - i hope its worth it.
(D50 body for sale btw)
Right, I have a shared drive on a PC (a) that i want another PC (b) on the network to be able to write files to. Without giving everyone full control of the share, how can i allow a local user on another PC permissions to write to the folder?
I've tried mapping the drive on b as the a local...
I think i know the answer to this, but I'm off to see Everton vs Fulham on saturday. My mate is a season ticket holder and has got seats on the front row level with the halfway line - prime spot for some photos. Are you allowed to take "professional cameras"?
How can i open a specific port (9100) to allow communications through it?
If i used netstat -a, i can see that the required port is not active. I've tried going through windows firewall exceptions without success.
Got back yesterday morning, am so tired! Didn't manage to take as many photos as i'd have liked due to taking our daughter with us, so many are just snaps, anyway, enjoy.
Managed to win a brand new Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 DG APO Macro from the bay this weekend. £350 delivered! Not bad considering they are £799 at Jessops!
Time to sell some stuff now...
Right i need some disks for either 2005 or 2008 standard by tomorrow morning. If anyone can help me or point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful.
Just been sorting out a few pics from Silverstone on sunday. It was my first proper attempt at motorsport photography, and it did take me a while to get some decent results whilst panning - although I had a few keepers at 1/60th. I didn't find the track too bad to geting decent photos, although...
I know its not quite a D300, but I've been offered one for what i think is a steal at £400. 5500 actuations, extra battery, boxed etc.
If I sell my 18-200mm VR and D50 body I should still have some change left over.
I can't really see myself realistically spending £1000 on a D300 and...
Just got back from a week at the in laws in Ontinyent near Valencia. First time away with the baby so was a bit nervous, but all was well going both there and back.
Valencia is a lovely place, and a very photogenic city (most are i suppose). I did use my new 18-200 VR a fair bit, but the old...
I've not had time for much photography lately, but a couple of new investments (18-200mm VR & 77mm hoya CPL) have renewed my interest and got my taking photos again. Looking forward to trying them out in spain next week! Hopefully i can raise funds and keep the 10-20mm too...
1/20th sec gotta...
Ok, should i sell my Sigma 10-20mm and Sigma 70-300mm APO and get a Nikon 18-200mm VR?
Gets on my tits having to change lens all the time, i'm not sure whether i'm more suited to a walk around lens?
