My mate fitted a BMC CDA to his Lupo Gti, same engine as your Polo Gti, and it was a lot smaller than the BMC on mine.
Also, his BMC needed a 70mm CAF, mine needed 80mm.
Whether that will affect performance etc, i dont know, just some info for you to mull over!
I'm very much of the opinion that the quality of tyres shows the level of care you give your car.
I would rather see shot PE2's on the car than new cheap crappy tyres.
First thing i checked when i bought mine was that there was PE2's all round.
Just my opinion tho!
I suppose it comes down to what they are offering part ex.
If its going to cost you £180 say to fit new tyres, are they going to offer you more than £180 on top of the current part-ex price?
If they say they are going to give you £8k with the shot tyres but only £8.1k with new tyres, then...
Best price i got for Michelin PE2's in 205*45*16 is from Blackcircles: £92 fitted using RENAULT 5% disc code.
Has the place that you are part ex'ing the car into pointed out the tyres or is it just that you know they need doing?
Welcome mate, good to see another welsh boy.
Check the local meetings page for the next south wales meet (you will need to fork out the £5 membership to post in that section tho!)
My understanding was that they had the correct centre bore so that the spacers fitted (stuck onto) the hub and didnt just rely on the horizontal force of the bolts to hold them on.
Check the local meetings, Chris is trying to organise another South Wales one in the near future!

Mine splutters/has no power until the temp needle moves from its stop. Usually i try to fast idle for a few mins before going anywhere to get some warmth into the engine.
Funnily enough, one drove past me at lunchtime today....looked awesome in the flesh.
Certainly beats the F430 that keeps driving past ragging it off the rev limiter in first.
Its only worth what someone else is willing to pay, have a look on ebay at similar items that have been recently sold and it should give you a ball park figure.
As said above its worth contesting - even if its just a letter and a few ads of similar cars printed of the autotrader website.
This is what you paid your insurance for - so that if the worst happens you get compensated to the value of your loss (in an ideal world anyway)
What are peoples thoughts on the recaro speeds?
I had a sit in one at the Autosport show and i thought they were really good. They were priced up as £330+options each.
Worth a look maybe Paul?
I'd turbo my 182 if i had the money, would no doubt regret if after, but would prob still do it.
I'd just add it to the list of stupid purchases i've made (like the £1500 set of 20" wire wheels i have sat in my garage which have never been fitted)
In fact, if i had a 197 and turbo'd it it would...
