As a lot ofpeople seem to be looking / buying EP3 at the moment I thought that I wouldjust share my views on this as this may help people out .
I have just sold my Civic Type R (EP3) that I have had for just over a year anda half and have replaced it with a PH 2 172 .
First of the steering...

Cost +performance it is hard to beat .
Sold my Civic EP3 type R for £ 3000
Brought my Ph2 172 for £ 1400
Both very much the same car as far as performance / fun but the Clio will do 35MPG and has lots of toys compared to the civic and is newer and less miles .
Its really a no brainer...
Sold up as moving hous again and needes topay some bills off .
The engine and gear box of the CTR anr amazing but there is not a lot between the cars . They are tow cracking cars .

Nice car i had the Gruppe M PRC inlet manifold ( DC5 inlet maniflod ) 2.5 B pipe and a DC5 4-2-1 Exhaust manifold .
Car ran very nice with this set up .
Gearbox was short shifter and solid bush and this was good and a JDM RARB was a must .

No it was justa normal 172 PH 2
Did a deal on it and collected it yesterday .
Everything is working on it to my surprise and it drives very well .
Forgot just how good they are TBH

Thath what i was thinking it has the light washer jets engine cover and all the other bits .
Not to sure why it comes up on the data check as a cup mind .

Can anyone letme know if the 172 Cup ever came with Xeons and leather/cloth seats .

To sum up I’mthinking about selling the Honda CTR and buying a Clio 182 .
Just moving in to new flat after a split with the ex-so will be funding allbills myself .
Thought are so far the Clio will be a tad better on fuel newer ( my CTR is on a02 plate ) and have some toys with it .
The Civic...
Yeah there are a lot of problems with them that can come up . My one cost me a small fourtune but was running a ( FLEE MAP ) @ 270 BHP and 275 LB/FT .
Had a sort of diff at the front to try and help with torque steer .
Was good fun good old turbo lag too :)
Ah I see themost I did with my one was the larger throttle body from the ZR 160 and somelight breathing mods . Went quite well for a N/A 1.8 and the LSD and suspensionset up was very good indeed .
I had a BRM racing Green with the orange mouth and the red leather and chrome inside :)
How did he get 200 BHP out of it ? drop the tomcat turbo engine in it ?
I can tell you a Vtec fan then :)
Something with boost sounds much more up your street . The fact that you have to work the Vtec engine hard is part of its charm for me . It demands that you put the effot in or it will give you nothing in return .

Had a go in a R32 4 door manual a few months back .
Very nice car no faster than my EP3 but made a lovely noise .
Only thing that would put me off would be the thirst of it .
