I've got a quote for £150 for a new screen in my ph1.
I'm just going to leave it untill it cracks more though, I can see fine as its behind the mirror and I would rather leave it because if i get a new screen then get a chip in it soon after i'll be annoyed so rather leave this one untill it...
I also prefare the looks of the 200 over a 197. It looks more aggressive. I'm a huge fan of the 200. Will probably never own one, my future car diection will probably land me with an RS Megane but the 200's a top machine.
I'd hope that they had sorted the wear on the 200's. I'd actually be reluctant to get a recaro'd 197 because of the wear. I can see it having a big effect on second hand prices if all the seats are knackered. The bolsters should be leather so they don't wear as badly.
My entire car could do with dynamatting to stop the thing rattling. Its heavy stuff though, rather have the vibrations.
Will be a big improvement when you get the 172 plastics in it Alex. The expression stuff is a crap colour.
I'd go for a mint 182. To be honest i'd be looking at Trophys. As Bazzon said, get 15's for cheap tyres and a slightly better drive, decent brakes and spend the rest on consumables.
Gutted to see this. It looked mint on Sunday. Glad your ok though.
It will be borderline whether its fixed or not. I don't know either way.
Shame because it was such a clean car.
I'd recommend a ph1, I love mine.
On the motorway in mine @ 70 I can get 44MPG which is decent. Around town about 32MPG.
They're suposed to be ever so slightly better on fuel than ph2's because they have slightly longer gearing and they're lighter.
I'd move away from a Clio to be honest. Get yourself a Mondeo or something. You can get them easily for the price your 182 will be worth and have a much better cruiser.
What puts me off the dci's is that they tend to break, things go wrong with them that routeen maintenance doesn't put off...
I know exactly how you feel mate. Same happened to me with my first car. Its gutting when your excited waiting to get it then get let down. Mine had HG gone, crack in the head, needed belts & water pump.
Hopefully something better will come along. In my case I got a car 4 years newer for only...
I had a similar problem when I bought my 1.2 Evans Halshaw lost the service book and manual. In the end they got me a service book and stamped the service they'd done. I then had to go to Arnold Shark and get them to stamp the service they had done.
Luckily at less than 2 years old it had only...
I'd try sportlines. I've found they made a realy good diffeence to mine and compliment the standard setup well. I found they make the can communicate with you better, you get better turn in feel with them because they're stiffer. They give a nice drop too. Not huge but makes a difference...
I run my ph1 airbox with no CAF's now after reading this thread. I'm amazed at how much louder it is. It sounds very good.
Can't say i've noticed a difference in responsiveness either way. Saying that i'm running completely standard setup inc filter apart from the CAF's removed.
I'd go for the 182. Your always going to get that responce on a Clio forum though.
However 106 GTI's are a very capable car, but the 182's far better. The 106 GTI's just a tin can where as although the Clio may be no Bently you get Climate control, cruise control, decent stereo, nice interior...
