Haven't looked at them all but there are some alright ones in there. I should imagine it's very difficult using the kit lens for motorsport. As far as i know IS doesn't come into play with panning shots. Perhaps a monopod or a tripod would have been useful.

You won't have any problems fitting in but you will have to get used to the seating position. Also you may not be able to get passengers in behind you.

I don't think there is any problem with people voting for "coloured names" or "friends" tbh. Every round there's usually a couple that stand out very clearly and they come out with the most votes. I'd bet there are people who vote for their own photos though.
