I got mine at 19. Insurance isnt that bad, consumables are a bit more than a non-rs but the running costs arn't that bad.
172's are dirt cheap now though, so i'd expect to see a lot more chaved up ones soon.
Well I'll be having on soon. What ever you choose to call it
I'm sure there must be definate gains from the 'shoulder piece' the standard one just looks restrictive.
The panel filter would provide even more induction noise too won't it?
I've just removed the standard CAF's on my ph1 airbox. I can't say i've noticed any difference in performance but its a lot louder and sounds awesome.
I think i'll be going for JMS's bend and filter at some point in the near future too.
The Vee airbox looks good mate. Very tidy.
If I removed the standard insulated airfeeds from my ph1 172 airbox would this be benificial then? I've heard several people mention lately that CAF's can hamper performance.
If it realy is cam'd maybe it would be worth putting into the advert.
Slightly off topic but if you bought a car and wasn't told it was cam'd and insured it as standard where would you stand legally?
I mean its impossible to tell to the untrained eye?
Re: NW/NE meet, 31-1-10...
Your exit was epic Ben. I loved how you sat around warming the car up just for that.
Good meet. Nice to meet a few new people.
A remap will help mid range mainly. It gives a better torque curve. To be getting a significantl higher top speed your going to need ITB's, SC or Turbo. You could try that setup Kev uses of his 197 too, its suposed to be good.
I think for big power and speeds you'll need forced induction.
The 200 is not limited. Fact. The reason it does not rev around to 7800rpm is because it does not have the power to go any faster. The engine physically cannot provide the torque for it to rev any higher at those speeds hence it has reached its terminal velocity.
If your theory that it would...
Know the feeling Naith. I go uni in September. I need to save enough to keep the 172 on the road for the year. It will need a services, albeit only an interim, brakes all around and a windscreen. Plus anything else that goes wrong in the interim. Then insurance on top of that.
Major ball ache.
If an exhausts got a lifetime guarantee does that include the baffles. I.e. if I got a decat and blew the baffles out of my stealth would ktec replace it under warranty.
Probably true that. Its a good enough reason too imo. If your not bothered about luxuries and want to save a bit of cash why not.
The Cup's don't seem to lose value any quicker than a FF. I'd rahter have a 182 Cup than non-cup packed.
