Gave the engine bay a clean up
Odessey pc680 battery in the boot in a box I made up
Gave the engine a clean up and paint in the left over marine blue paint I used on my calipers.
Got 8mm yellow leads which are great quality.

Been through various steering wheels now
Started off with a OMP suade wheel with omp boss
Turned out to be fake and soft as shut so as it was dangerous it went in the bin and put a momo race wheel in I had in the garage
Didn’t like the feel so I got a genuine OMP 300mm steering wheel this...
I didn’t get on with the cup front seats as they dug in my back and actually still pretty heavy.
Swapped them out for corbeau boss recliner seats as I had them sitting around.
Drivers seat on a Jon z xlow seat base and passenger on a sparco base as I didn’t like the sparco base on the drivers...
Next up the brakes
Ever since I got it I found the brakes rubbish
Decided to get a fast road setup as mainly what I’m using it for at the moment .
Evora slotted discs
Mintex m1144 pads front
Standard rear pads
ATE super 2000 fluid
New seals in calipers
Old disks where completely shot...
I then started to try and clean it up a bit and sort out stuff that had been not sorted as financial issues for my brother.
First up was the induction kit that was in a bit of a state.
The filter was destroyed inside and glad I caught it before my engine decided to eat it.
Painted it up...
Hi
I thought I would start a project thread for my old nail.
I got it from my brother who had kept it 5 years and covered 20k in it but didn’t believe in condoms so child number 3 meant he could have a grand scenic instead ?
£2000 later I had a FSH 54k cup ?
Anyway here is what it looked like...
Absolutely awesome work Tom.
Just out interest what made you pick a clio over say a m3?
You clearly have driven some impressive cars so does the Clio still cut it?
Oh I see That makes things easier. As I say I want to build a competitive car but not break the rules.
I imagine I will end up running against you at some point anyway
I was reading through the blue book today and it says for road going class it says diff/gearbox engine has to be original or optional extra where's modified says they are free!
I am already confused
Not at all. I am very great full for the help. I want to make sure I have a competitive car but I totally agree in keeping in the rule books.
Are LSD, cams etc allowed in this category?
Well I doubt anyone will be worried about my car or me!
New to motorsport, budget Clio with less power and extras than most and hefty weight penalty in regards driver
Ok so I will have to source a rear wiper for my cup as the previous owner ditched it.
I currently have a race battery in the original position so it can stay there.
You can fit fiberglass boot and bonnet in the road modified as long as they don't have vents in and properly secured is this...
Hi
What a wonderful car
I am thinking if following a similar route with my 172 cup,
I take it rear wiper, fog lights etc have to be on the car?
I see you are struggling with gearbox ratios, would a 172 cup box with its shorter ratios be better?
Do things like battery relocation and race...
Next update
More interior stuff
I decided to fit some recliner seats I had bought for my M3 but changed my mind so had them sitting around and the cup seats where hard to slide and felt loose on the mech so I bought some sparco seat bases and tried these out
From these barely bolted down I.e...
Update
Done some more interior upgrades
First up was to try and deal with the nasty steering wheel. Now the obvious choice would be to put a aftermarket one in but I wanted to keep the airbag to protect my pretty face.
The thumb grips there dead like horrible to drive.
so I bought some...
