Lol, and mad is me! ;)
Lol dave, you can have the shell. You gotta come get it and it'll have no bodypanels or anything though ;)
But in all seriousness, I was having this conversation with my mate (owns his own bodyshop) who fitted the bonnet. Seeing as its a trackcar and not a racecar I...
Carbon bonnets on with new aerocatches (albeit a little pissed as the mounts underneath the hinges are fubared!) and going in tomorrow to have the windscreen replaced! So should be good for Donnington on sunday!
Going to sticker the s**t out of it also, as well as having a huge sunstrip like...
Lol I want to do that also! Was thinking more of maybe cutting the megane into pieces and putting it into the scrap clio shell and then weighing the lot in! With scrap metal being worth quite a bit atm I should do alright by weighing them two in!
Lol, i'll never have excuses to drop Chrisy boy...
Fortunately not Mark, was going down the sliproad onto the A3. Was nothing on the sliproad when it flipped up so got it over towards the kerb/path without no troubles, lucky it didnt happen on the A3 itself!
Indeed a reshell does sound extreme but its something i've wanted to do for ages and don't ask me why I just have! lol If I can find the right car to break for spares which will then leave me with the shell and also the money I put into it maybe plus more. I wont be able to drive it which means...
So, to date this is probably the biggest fail/schoolboy/idiotic thing i've done... Friday evening i'm changing over the wheels onto some normal wheels with road tyres, it was getting dark and was rushing. As I always do, I take it out for a short drive to make sure everythings alright...
Right a little update!
Had the car for a few weeks now and done over 1500 miles, all I can say is how good it is to drive! (once i've spent a few pennies on it!)
Had a stuttering/hesistation when driving that would cause it to run on 3 cylinders at times so replaced all the coils, seemed to...
Buy a £500 diesel runaround with long tax and test, swap the insurance over to it from the clio and declare the clio SORN for the time being. That means you can chop the tax in on the clio which will give you a lump of money towards a car, insurance will be no doubt half the price and fuel bills...
Re: Wanted: Quaife / Gripper Diff
Nah Tony I didnt mean to cause you offense as you know a darn sight more than me! Just think it's the others in this thread who look at what one person says and agree with them to make them look big/clever when they havent read what I said properly.
But...
Re: Dave.'s Trumpeted Engine Spec, Cammed Up Gunit, 2118'd Carbon Vagina Boob obsessi
Awesome stuff! I'm guessing it makes around the 212bhp 170ft/lb mark. Get the results asap! ;)
Tom, as per pms and what Revels has said. I'd be picky as if you have to spend a shed load on the first one you see then you'll quickly fall out of love with the car like I did when I first got mine!
Become a paid member on here, there's a few sheds in the For Sale section however you'll find...
Re: Wanted: Quaife / Gripper Diff
No I totally agree with you Tony in terms of racing, i'm sure it would make a huge difference.
However there seems to be a few idiots on here who clearly didnt read my post fully. I was refering to Dave who created this thread, who is not racing and will...
Fletch - I may have a B&M shortshifter available in the coming weeks ;) Its off a Megane 2.0 16v which is the same setup as the Mk1 clios, and I think there the same as the Mk2's!
Also have you seen the price for a shortshifter, a megane one new is £250! If mine fits you can have it for £50...
I love everything apart from that rear spoiler, they could of done something similar to CSL bootlid maybe to create downforce if it needs it in comparison to that spoiler.
I'd imagine similar to the CL brake pads...
10x 30mph to idle/rolling,
10x 70mph to 20mph,
100-120mph to 40mph.
Obviously dont do that all without a few breaks in between, just drive for a minute or so without using the brakes so they cool down a little and then continue on with the bedding in.
Re: Wanted: Quaife / Gripper Diff
Unless your running a silly amount of camber or stupid power (over 300bhp) not really a need dave i'd say. I run 3 degrees of neg camber on the front and around 220bhp per tonne and never had a problem with traction loss on track.
Just spend them pennies on...
This!
Tbh i couldnt give a flying f**k if someone else is quicker than me around a track in a standard car with tuition, people do what they do to there cars for the enjoyment and thats all it should be about... I like the fact that my cars a piece of crap yet feels absolutely savage when...
