Yeah, I did this on mine before i got the haynes manual, then afterwards i realised that the support bracket unbolts and makes the job a whole lot easier!

The teeth on your starter motor could be worn down slightly so that they are not touching the flywheel as much or you could be chipped one of the teeth of your flywheel as the engine always stops in the same place and it takes a while for the starter to grip onto the next tooth!

Just done 650 miles to newquay and back with 4 blokes and luggage in the car, ride was brilliant but have to be careful on full lock!
