Re: Insurance. Fookers!
It is expensive to get insured on the RS Clio's. I'm going down the Ph1 route personally hoping to get insured for around £1600 tpft. It is a lot but i'm used to it, I pay £1400 on the 1.2 so balls to it.
I'm just realy hoping that the indacative quotes i'm getting...
Very good review that mate.
I thought exactly the same about the non RS MK2 v MK3 when I test drove the 1.2 TCE. Yes the MK3 was better imo, didn't realy test its handling just straight line speed and comfort etc however it just wasn't worth the extra money over my MK2 1.2 imo.
I haven't modded my 1.2 becuase i'm saving up for a new car and also I didn't want to put money into a car I didn't realy want.
However, I will lightly modify my new car but I want it to be subtle because some of the best cars on the forum are modded but without shouting about it: Perfect...
I'm not so much a fan of them tbh, don't know why just not my cuppa.
I agree with you about the engine though. My mates got a 1.4 8V and engine in them feels and sounds smoother than the clio's however I think pace wise they are the same but the pug is more eagar to rev. I think the 1.2 16V...
Nice. Seems mad to have such a big deisel engine in a car that small they only used a 1.5 in the saxo/106, mustn't handle too well with all the weight up front.
What do you drive now? I suggest you drive 1*2 and also the dynamique s. I drove the 1.2 TCE dynamique s and didn't think it was much better than my MK2 tbh. The dash and controls etc where nicer and more modern, the steering wheel is smaller which is good.
At 100bhp it didn't feel much...
When the coilies being fitted then? Didn't realise spax did coilies for the clio's never heard anybody use them before. Have you had any experience of them in the past?
Looks spot on that mate. Good spec too.
However you say you want a 197: Would you not consider a 172/182 and using the money saved on buying it of the extra insurance.
Its best to drive both and then see how you feel after then. Running costs etc are the same. Yes insurance may be a little more on the cup but the maintenance costs are less.
Its just simply the feel of the car for you.
I've had the same problem when I had my car serviced at a local garage. Pissed oil on my gf's parents block pathing, they where not amused. The guy came out and sorted it though, then it leaked some more so I took it to his workshop and he did it properly on his ramp.
£250 because of a sump...
If its an aftermarket warranty I wouldn't worry tbh. With insurance its up to you whether you declare it, its not a obvious mod though if you catch my drift.
Matched inlets would also go well with your remap. If you do a search in here you'll find lots of info on here.
IIRC A lad on here...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Only just watched the video. That start button is rediculously cool. I'd like to see someone try and nick it, it'd confuse them even more than the immobilizer on the valver.
My 1.2 won't even do 100mph ffs. Well I haven't tried recently, next time i'd try it without the 2cm thick costco mat underneath the accelerator on my private road. Those mats realy do bug me, it only allows about 80% throttle, which isnt good on a 1.2
Can't be much left of you then. Theres loads of crashed ones.
Tbh i've not driven a 2.0 but the jump from 1.2 to 2.0 doesn't phase me. Its no faster than a 1.2 if you take it easy, you are the only one that can make it faster than a 1.2 it doesn't accelerate its self does it. Just need to...
Nothing :)
All my spare cash (after bills + ale + holiday etc) goes into my PH1 172 fund. Been saving for a while now, better than modding the 1.2 for me.
