    Rear tyre wear on track

Nice one dude, didn't think of that, makes sense though. I'll have a look over the weekend if I get chance. Amazing the difference half a degree here and a few minutes there can make eh...

    Rear tyre wear on track

Cheers Jay, will give a bit less pressure a go, although I have a feeling that might let the tyre deform more? Worth a shot though - cheers! The tyres are 195s and the wheels are 6.5 or 7" (can't remember off top of head), they 'look' fine if that makes sense (can see a bit in the pics up top)...

Ah awesome - thank would be great. Thanks in advance!

    Rear tyre wear on track

Hmmm, pretty sure its not the arches, the surface very much looks like wear from the track rather than scrubbing, its very even if you get me. Ah I see, that makes sense. Had thought about trying to check temps but it seems you need a probe to get down into the tread, which is expensive and a...

Cheers Tony, was hoping you would reply! Just put up with the rear tyres wearing funny then?

Nice shots! Don't suppose there's any of me? (Blue 172 Cup, black squares on doors, silver wheels.)

    Rear tyre wear on track

I usually start the tyres around 25 at the rear, and they have been up as far as 29, but not for any length of time... I would have thought lower pressure would give more edge wear and higher pressure less grip? The car is very balanced at the moment, grips well in the dry, slight understeer in...

    Rear tyre wear on track

Hello all, Got some pretty high outside edge tyre wear going on at the rear on my 172 Cup when on track, after a bit of advice/feedback if poss please... I have 1 deg camber shims both sides, which should put the camber around -2.5 (although realistically I think one is 2.5 and the other is...

Was at Oulton on Friday, saw a few Clios, shared a garage with a 197 and a 182 - anyone on here? Cheers, Adam

    Brake options

My setup is RC5+, Brembo HC discs, ATE Super Blue fluid, normal lines, and some big ol' ducts - zero fade, lots of power, very happy. So I would say you're definitely along the right lines!

    172 Cup Track/Fast Road car.

Had another watch of the vids... Here's my 2p (sorry if any of this is 'teaching your grandma to suck eggs' type stuff!): Seems like a lot of the understeer is under steady state cornering or the exits? 'Slow in, fast out' works well here, if you go in understeering the temptation is to keep...

    172 Cup Track/Fast Road car.

Geo and setup sounds fine - however the tread on Rainsports is so widely spaced they do seem to squirm around a lot in the dry. My mate went from TR-1s to those and noticed a massive difference - said the Uniroyals were awesome in the wet though. What sorta hot pressures are you running at, out...

    Track Brake Pads (again, sorry!)

Yeah Kam were a quid cheaper, but I popped in the Cliosport discount code on the K-Tec site... to be told I couldn't use it (seen the thread and agree it needs to be clearer!). For the sake of a quid I couldn't be arsed to cancel and re-make the order elsewhere. Hopefully they will post out...

    Track Brake Pads (again, sorry!)

All good info - cheers gents. Have decided to give RC5+ a shot, I really liked the way the RC5s worked (and lasted well, and didn't eat discs), and after chatting with one of the guys at K-Tec they explained Carbone Lorraine have made some tweaks to how they attach the material after seeing a...

    Track Brake Pads (again, sorry!)

Jay, Jonny, Fred, thanks for chiming in! £200 is a bit much for me for the Xp8s, and the PF97s don't sound cheap either, so I'll look into the DS3000s. Cheers again!

    Track Brake Pads (again, sorry!)

Cheers for the input gents - I prefer a pad that doesn't need a lot of pedal force to do it's thing, as I probably only use about 1/2 of my foot on the brake pedal. Car + driver + passenger + fuel is around 1100kg so yeah, a fair bit of extra bulk over the Burpspeed car..! I very much liked...

    Track Brake Pads (again, sorry!)

Hello all, Currently have some front Carbone Lorraine RC5s on. Their performance is perfect - zero fade (4" ducts), as much power as I needed every single stop hot and cold. Not bothered about dust and noise... However, the backing has parted company from the braking material :nono: Found this...

    Xbox Wireless Speed Wheel

Same as Luke - however, adding some spongey/foamy/rubbery stuff behind the brake pedal makes a huge difference. You can have ABS off for better braking, but still have a bit of feel. I found that with Forza the brakes would lock really easy so needed some sponge plus ~4mm thick bit of wood, for...
