F**king hell! A steal at that price.
Its a shame they rot as badly as they do; mechanically they're really robust, especially for a car from the late 80's/early 90's.
Course it's a serious project ;) just need to sort the arches out and it's fine!
MX5_CL is Adz's mate, I think. I do like his car, but there's already one quite similar to it in the states, and it's not really the 'look' I'm going for. Durty Harrys Miata from Club Roadster/Slamburglars is...
That's not a bad price, but I'd rather spend £80 more and have the genuine items.. also, the XXR's I'm after are of a different style.
527's
or 522's
I'd be happy with either tbh, especially for the price...
Re: My Budget Track Project. (GTI-6 Ph1)
That was a suggestion as to why it might be down on power slightly, yeah; I don't actually know if it is out, but from what I've read cam timing seems to affect the performance the most..
Cambelt was last done at a Peugeot specialist, so it would be odd...
Well, I'm going to be sticking it on cheap XXR's to start with (£380ish a set 15x8.25 ET0) - so there's no use wasting money on others. I'd get 14" daisies and just make it look standard if I was going to swap these out, but I think that's money better spent elsewhere!
Not going to get a G.V...
I wonder what it would look like with black door handles and hard-top latches...
Looked really clean before the skirts and spoiler, now it's more purposeful. And the rear end looks slightly wider with those small lower arch extensions! Very nicely done
Oh, btw Adz I've not forgotten, just had a sh*t load on the past week with work etc. Expect a PM tomorra with your PS ;)
if i can make mine half as nice as yours I'll be dead happy!
Jon, that would be absolutely brilliant! Let me know when we could go etc :)
I'll be able to make some progress this week when the various parts arrive, but lows etc won't be happening this month, I'm not made of money!
The horrible TSW's don't actually have terrible fitment, so I might be able...
I'm never down south, no :(
I've been eyeing up a genuine Eunos key blank as they look real tasty, and then I'd get another cheapo blank for a spare. Don't want to start spending excess money on crap though! lol
Yeah, it's just the sticking rear brake that I'm worried about - should be sorting that out as soon as the parts come and I get a jack though.
MOT runs out on the 12th IIRC, so need something sorting quick sharp.
To be honest it could be anything - I've not bothered to have a look yet as it's not really affecting the way it drives. My best guess would be the heat shield covering the exhaust manifold?
That's a fair call! I'll ask around.
I also need Rhys to sort me out an MOT... or at least point me in...
FLOL!
Anyone know where I can get one of those extra low jacks that isn't Costco (I don't have a card)?
EDIT: F**k that actually. I'll just build some ramps when I need them!
Oh, look what I just found... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAZDA-MX-5-MK1-FRONT-DRIVERS-WING-RED-SHOWN-PICTURE-/150822073779?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AMX-5&hash=item231db235b3
Very treatable section of rust.
FLOL. Too bloody right. Stupid boot!
Might be worth a try then! I think the rear arches have become a weird shape (although I'm hoping that's just the paint.) We'll see anyway, that's not quit the highest priority at the moment.
I've just ordered a pair of brand new wing mirrors, ready sprayed in black, a brake seal kit for the...
Yeah, quite possibly!
I'll see if there's anywhere that would be treatable with just that Jon. Pretty sure most of it is beyond just bubbling now though tbh! I'll have a look :)
That's the steering wheel that was on it! Pull the centre cover off and voila ;)
It's alright Rob, I know it's scruffy! I just need to get a years ticket on it, and then I can start spending money on improving stuff.
Well, I got it cheap and its the exact spec I wanted other than the colour. The body work really isn't going to be an issue; I've a family member who'll be able to sort out the rear arches and paint work and the rest I can do myself.
The engine is mint, as you can see from the picture - lots of...
LOL!
I didn't mention that there was some lacquer peel on the doors, so he was rightly a bit miffed about it. Although they also spotted some things that I genuinely hadn't noticed, so we decided on a price accordingly.
Pretty much all the cars I've bought (other than the red 106 which was...
