Hello mate, you need to fit an inline resistor between the wires, from memory its something like 23ohms, but you need to make sure its a decent size otherwise they overheat, I got mine from maplins, its like a long rectangular type, as the normal bulb types get too hot, mines soldered in and...
Is there not an argument to say, work with the grip you have, if you cant afford or don't want to spend £600 on a set of tyres, then drive to the tyres grip level, I have medium budget tyres fitted to mine, not the most expensive by a long shot, and I have to work to make them spin or lose...
As someone has said above, I believe this was more opportunistic than planned, if I was planning to break into someone's house and steel their car, I would be looking for something more expensive and desirable to take that risk, As much as its a horrible horrible thing to happen, they guys...
Welcome mate, as Nick said, this is probably one of the most knowledgeable forums I have been on, if you can't find it on here ,it probably hasn't been done....
That's the issue mate, unless you know someone or can tackle it yourself, Labour costs will be the big hit, and if nothing else, at least you will get a warranty etc....
Most of the cost will be in labour to get at the release bearing, so if you are going to change that, you might as put another few quid to it and change the clutch at the same time, usually comes as a kit anyway....
I sort of like it, twin turbo one would be the one to go for, even in standard guise 0-60 in just over 5 seconds and 160+, and I bet it wouldn't take a lot to increase the power....
How close to the motors limit though? i.e. on the verge of going bang all the time?
Maybe easiest and cheapest setup would be 2 GSRX1000 engines mounted where the back seat is?
http://www.tigerracing.com/z100.php, just as idea of the engine setup.... I bet you could pick both motors up for less...
I got my FF182 for a lot less than 2k, its in excellent condition as well, but looking at prices I might have been lucky, they seem to be 2k plus, as JPD said, FF comes with a few toys, so you get the best of both worlds.....
I think I paid £120 for the tuner and about £80 for the unlock code and map, bearing in mind you can then sell your tuner for the money you bought it for, but I kept mine as a diagnostic tool.....
Mine took about 10 mins to backup and 10 mins to re-write
Done mine a few weeks, ago, well worth it, easy to do as well, I was worried about messing with the ECU, just make sure you back it up before you re-write it just in case, also another good thing to remember is, if you haven't got a really strong battery on the car, attach a battery charger, you...
Strange thing is, the colouring doesn't look too bad if its been running really lean, I would expect them to be a lot lighter looking? like really grey?
Been out around the Preston Area on my bike many many times, run up the A6 towards Devils bridge is decent once you get past Lancaster, just watch out for the pumpkins posing as policeman

How did the tuner come with a map? the map is file from your computer? isn't the tuner just a box that links the pc to the car to allow it download?
When I bought my tuner, I had to buy an unlock code and a map.....

Go on youtube and have a look at some of the vids of 1*2 going round the ring in Germany, it really isn't about straight line performance, there will always be someone quicker down the straight, well most of the time, but look at the way they catch M3's and 335D through the twisty bits, I think...
I assume so, bit technical for me, but I wouldn't think the standard ECU could hold 2 programmes, but I am not really sure, just be nice to have the choice for a bit of fun....
