This ones aimed at David ( R9DCG) , Alan and Rich . The wax obviously holds a positive charge causing it to attract dust . Do you find that different microfibre cloths cause more static than others when removing the wax , or are they all the same ?
Nice one . Another whos succumb to the shiny bits , lol . Get that engine bay cleaned up young man , its disgraceful ;)
Keep us posted with some pics .
Wax attracts dust like s**t to a blanket , thats the nature of the stuff . If anybody can find a product that will actually make it non static i'd love to hear about it . Even the chemical guys doesn't stop dust 100% . I washed / waxed / chemical guys qd on Friday , now its covered in a fine...

If its just one of the covers that goes on the back of the unit i'd just pop it back on and leave it . As said above . They are not sealed and only there to stop dirt getting in .
As you've experienced before dealerships are very helpful and love to bend over backwards to keep a happy smile...
I don't know about the alternator being on its way out causing the lights to flicker , but its a common trait on the Clio that the lights come on especially when going round a sweeping bend indicating either just low brake fluid level or worn pads causing the fluid level to be low .
Just had a letter from the local stealers today offering me a test drive in one .Don't think i'll bother as i just don't like how they look , they just don't stand out from the crowd , and i don't like the shape of them .
So i'd say NO dont buy one ,stick with your 172 or get a 182 or a...
