    Clio 172 power limits?

all depends what you mean, n/a limit is around 240bhp - that will cost you a good 6-7k. You can get 250+bhp but will be super £££££££ You can go turbo/supercharged, on standard internals somewhere around 230bhp is safe, you can go higher if your carefull, we have a few members running near...

    Good choice!

    Stupid question

you can, but you need to know what you are doing. I would suggest against it as it is very easy to get water into the spark plug holes - you need to also wrap everything that is electrical - i dont have to explain water and electrics don't mix lol
  14. R

    Dephaser

Worth getting the cambelt done at the same time mate, I think all in is around £550-£600 with someone like Fred - near half what Renualt would charge and you get to watch the man at work, whic his like Voodoo - how he does it il never know lol

Clio Mk1 (williams or valver) handle as well as the mk2 172/182

Mk2 Clio has better rear suspension but is heavier - swings and roundabouts really. personally I think the mk2 is a better starting point (iv had 3 mk1's, and 3 mk2's so have had experience with both) and i have tracked all constantly over the past 8 years, but it is down to pwrsonal opinion...

    Criticism Welcome :)

Fair play for trying something different, im fully behind that, but il have to agree the colours dont go very well.

    Clio 172 cup track project

Remember too mate when you strip it out the weight distribution will change massively - and the car will again behave very different, as you have a good idea what they behave like near standard, I suggest not stripping it quite yet, and get used to track driving with the car in a state of what...

    cheap tuning

0-60 in 6.5 because of combined low weight, gear ratio, rwd (more grip when launching) weight balance too ;)

    Engine knock

Best cheap way is buy some poly bushes for the dogbone mount (the one under the engine) and do this: Undo the 4 big bolts bolting down the o/s mount. Get a lever bar between the mount and the suspension turret (go carefull not to damage you air con pipes) give it a bloody good heave, and...

    Clio 172 cup track project

Cheers my love, it seems this happens a lot now, (apologies to OP if you have previous experience with Clio) where people throw thousands and thousands at their Clio, but only in what is recommended by other people, rather than deciding on what is actually best for them, and it's a real shame as...

    Clio 172 cup track project

I would advise tracking the car standard, bar a set of decent (road) tyres and some better brake pads. Once you are used to the Clio, then look at the weak links to improve - ie wait till you are the weak link, modding the car will only push that breaking point to a much higher speed, and as...

    Looking at getting another Sport.

Yes that can help, though a few tweaks can help - new standard mounts, combined with polybushed dogbone mount (under the car) and the o/s enfine mount adjusted right (you can pull them backward and forward) helps massively - and much much cheaper than the uprated ones

i need a bath after servicing my clio took two days and im greasy and sweaty

I would write a post explaining how far past fail town you are, how those plugs will give you no end of trouble (iv used them so i know) but i think it would be like trying to fit a 9mm socket on a 10mm bolt - so close but ultimately so so far
