    Not at the mo, il be lucky if this one does more than 100 miles this year! Taking my time with it, not going over board, but no real need to rush - im hoping to have it mobile for the Combe action day in Sept, hoping the cage will be in by then. Got a few new ideas id like to try with it too

    What was BHP at the wheels mate? Flywheel bhp is always estimated, so for a standard 172 you would hope for around 140ish at the wheels

    It all falls down to your budget. For a noticeable gain, and a generally well known good setup is as follows: Panel filter (the ph1 172 airbox is a good design) Cat back exhaust (You can remove the cat, but the ph1 cat does flow pretty well - if you rempve it it will be a lot louder)...

    Id start by getting the fault codes checked and changing the oil for some 5w40 - then see how it is

    Bhp will be around 185 ish as its fairly standard, and I think top speed is circa 155ish on gps (I remember reading somewhere Foxy saying that)

    As said Oil pressure sender Wiring fault Low oil Oil pump fault But as you say is goes when driving id say low oil pressure on idle could be (putting it basic) engine wear :( What oil do you have in there now? Too thin and it could be letting the pressure go too low

    350Z was a lucky save! What impresses me most about yours is how late you can brake - plus how stable under braking it seems for such a light car. Shame it will be broken - worth offering it for sale as complete? As a track car you cant ask for much better

    How weird Mark, id guess at a sensor with a dodgy connection and hitting the limiter (with the sudden juddering) makes it break?

    You must have a weird set of ratio's or a misleading speedo to have that much variance in speed! 100mph was on the 7500 in my old VTS in 3rd, where 4th only ran to 127 @ 7500

    they can handle 7800 - but i wouldnt want to go above that - especially as standard power is around 6700 It shouldnt return to a normal limit, id say either the rev counter had a funny 5 mins or they moved the cold limiter up to 7200 from 6500

    Mine had 140k, 195bhp and had the arse fapped out of it every day lol - they dont loosen up till 100k imo
