How much life left in the 172/182's??

i've had mine three years now from new (37K), was originally bought on finance for 5 years, fully paid for about 6 months ago now, moved into my first house and I like the look of the MK3 but don't think I will get one, love my car to bits, still in showroom condition (it gets treated like a...

    I'm sure something's missing!

mmm, very interesting, can't wait to see what the outcome is, I agree, one major let down of the ph1 (for me) is the nasty bluey-grey interior (with the exception to the colour Renault Sport stiching).

    Xbox 360, HD VGA?

i'm currently running at 720p with it through components, the tv will do 1080i also, but reading the details about the VGA cable it says it runs at 720p, so surely there would be no point in getting one?

    Cup booked in for service

for starters, 172s are 12k, 24k, 36k, etc etc, and it should be around £160 / £170 at a Renault dealer.

    Jacking points??

I used Edde's method, seemed the best option to me, however it can result in removing some of the sealant from the chassis of the car.

mine is fine after 37k, like new. Although I know many others have had problems with the rubber grips splitting.

    Nearly Lost £8000

IMHO the best thing to do is buy one from within the club if you can, that way you know its going to have been looked after. PS. its actually THAT not DAT, just checked my English Dictionary.

    Nearly Lost £8000

sounds like you were paying over the odds anyway mate, a 172 with 34k should be closer to 7k, never mind one with all those problems.

    RenaultSport Clio III Test Mule

the interior on the car pictured is not out of a 172/182, you can see it is different. Its basically as others have said, it will be a mk3 dynamique or whatever that they have grabbed, chucked the sport engine, brakes and wings on to test and play with. Simple as, that's why it looks sh*t...
