Battlefield 4 Flood Zone at 4K with resolution scaling at 110%. SO actual resolution is over 4000 horizontal pixels - 4224x2376

unsure of what RAM to get. Ditching the C10 1866 and going with either C10 2400 or C9 2133. C9 2133 dom plats seem like a nice sweet spot for 24/7 as they run at 1.5v
Can always try and push em with more volts.
I played the PC beta, enjoyed it a lot. Actually pretty good at it as well. Will be buying. As for the comments about 'upscaling'. It uses the new Source engine, and looks the part on PC. Saturates my video memory @ 3GB with insane textures. Runs well though.
Second Assault.
Well, hmm. Not sure how I feel about re-hashed maps.
I'm terrible at this on PC now. Not sure if it's because I've not played it for awhile, or because I'm just old...but blah.
It's got a fairly big list of Frostbite 3.0 powered games, but they're all far into the future. It won't take off, but the internet fads think it will :)
Cool, look forward to seeing the difference. I'm unsure on whether i'll benefit more from having it suck air away from the GPUs, however being mine are on water, a lot of the ambient temps are rising due to there not being much in the way of cool air at all in the chassis, so I think intake will...
Big gains on slower chips, so it's removing a lot of CPU overheads as expected. Their big gains were quoting APU gains though which was a bit misleading, but it's still impressive.
Side intake fan to help ambient temps :D
Mine tops out at around 43c ish when proper going for it. your case temps are probably ok as you've got a front intake for cool air. I don't, which is why I'm fitting the 230mm fan :)
Cheers Wilkeh ^ :D
Nice Gareth. What sort of ambient case temps do you get? I seriously need a side intake on this. Hopefully going to cut it up tomorrow and fit one. case temp sensor is reporting 36ishC underload and water hits 40C. But all the hot air getting sucked out the top rad goes past...
NP.
Any ideas where I can get a grill for this? Seeing as I've maximised rad space, there's not really much in the way of cool air getting in. So going to turn around the rear exhaust fan and cut a side intake into the window...
lol f**k that. no point in having multiple Kingpins mate. You're better off with ref cards as you're still bottlenecked by the CPU with multiple cards, especially three! :D
Plus I'd need two PSUs at least to bench the Kingpins at anywhere near the voltage they deserve. I've seen one Kingpin...
For free, it's definitely worth a punt. It's terrifying in places. The AI is very predictable after 5 minutes though and there is a bit too much back tracking for my liking
bitcoin is a mission these days. Unless you don't pay the leccy bill, then you're quids in. I use proper GPU's though (Nvidia) which are terrible at hashing...;)
Where from bud?
In other hot air news, I thought this was dead in the water but it would appear MS have posted a blog.

Sounds a lot like a different take on Carmack's...
I have had a wee laugh at how some of the AMD users have been bigging it up as though it's going to be best thing since sliced bread. Seems that it is beneficial in certain CPU limited situations, which is normally overcome for the most part by overclocking the CPU anyway. So in two way...
Yeah, the sound card was another thing that drew me to it being built in. I don't have a Z any more. Was made redundant by my Tri SLi array lol. Can probably fit one in now mind you, but I'll see what these are like.
Controller is the Sabertooth. Build quality seems nice, will have to give it...
Niiice :)
Yeah I'm hoping this will be a step up, not that the Analogue Kaves are bad, but I've had them a fair old time now :). Also bought the Razor 360 controller, which was a bit of an impulse buy, but it looks the mutts :D
Doubt it. Those slides for OGL Source 2.0 are a year or two old at least. No doubt we'll see L4D 3 fairly soonish though. That particular shot is a level from L4D 2 ported over to Source 2.0, and it does look pretty good.
Just bought these. My old Kaves are starting to crackle a bit...
Makes you laugh when you see threads like this. Pomps over on PistonHeads are quick to jump on Renault for reliability. And then you have PH1s left right and centre that simply refuse to die...
Looks well too
lol too much effort! I've got braiding to fit to them. I might get around to it at some point. I was thinking as well instead getting the mid plate and drilling a hole for the QDC? I quite like being able to see the PSU lit and rads though
