Ive removed my fronts this weekend just gone. Purchased another set of contis for the rear and put the wheels that were on the rear onto the front. If your fronts are too worn, then they wont displace water very well (even on the back) and you could be risking it a little, although I dont know...

IK and exhaust would improve the mid-range, and raise power slightly, but it does show.

The Mk1 came with a lighter alloy bonnet, thats the main difference afaik. There is a 0.1 second difference to 60mph...also, the Mk1 should be cheaper, although potentially higher mileage. If you can afford the Mk2, then I would go there...if its under 3 years old, then you should get the...

The 3rd gear position is definately different! I had a 306 which was a straight run to third, but on the Clio, it kind of goes in and arcs towards the driver...Im getting there now, with only the occasional miss of the gear! All in all though, good car for little money...smiles per pound value...

Thats where mine is...its a good little place, and if you look in your mirror you can see it the right way round!!! Sad, but true!!!!

If its a 3 door, then there should be a release on the shoulder of the seat for it to go forward to let people into the rear of the car. If there is one there and its moving in your hand (the lever that is) then it isnt grabbing the cable to release it.

Have taken it back and the service lady got one of the mechanics to have a gander at it. He took back of seat (2 bits from bottom) and then sorted it out, cable had slipped...he was saying that he loved the cup and a mate of his had one...just panicking now when its in for its 12K service...pray...

What kind of figures are they talking about though? How much (roughly) do they want?

A/c will increase petrol consumption, and as an aftermarket purchase you spend a fortune, you wont get back what you paid for it, and you need to get it serviced every so often... You wont get your moneys worth seriously for it, if youre that desperate for it, then buy a new (to you) car with...

I want BBs 172 + turbo.....that sounds better to me, but who on earth Id get the traction down on a cup with that kind of power would be scary...Id be on first name terms with the local tyre company as Id probably be buying a new set every other week!!! ;)

If youre gonna do something, do it later on, if you do it now then he will (or at least should!) know where it came from. If hes done this to several people, then whomever beats him up could be anyone...just do it when he least expects it!

My drivers seat release (the one to let people/things in the back seats) doesnt seem to work...its as if the cable has pulled...has anyone else had this, and if it is a known problem, is it performed under warranty? Cheers in advance.

I used to use Sainsburys Super Unleaded, the car was a bit jerky at startup, since switching to Optimax the car is much better when starting up, there is a v.slight performance increase (v.negligable though). I wouldnt use 95 ron as it would lose its economy but suppose its personal preference...
