Ah i had that engine in my old MK4. Not the best tbh. Infact my 20vt is better on fuel.
Its a shame it has to go. Get a polo TDi..;) My mate had one and it used to get 70mpg..haha
They can look cool pretty easily. Although it doesnt look great there, it did in the metal.
Ive just been reading in E38 about VR 1/4's. A chap on the weekend with a standard 2.8 VR in vento with leather etc ran 15.5. Id say in a mk2, provided healthy they must be quicker than a clio sport in a straight line? Just not round the track.
Yep the Golf is a 2.8 - 170bhp. Corrado is a 2.9 with 190bhp.
We did a 2.9 conversion into a Mk2 within a day. The only delay was wiring to get it to start which swict did on his in 30mins for £40.00. Even still retains the vagcom port thingy.
The cars on the road now but no updated pics...
It was hideous. Luckily i pretty much knew as soon as i heard it so got her switched off almost instantly.
Ive just had the AA here. They arent happy with my lows. Special low loader en route haha
Yeah i can get a steel low profile one. Ive read that steel doesnt cool as well as alloy though so not a good idea to fit them?
As for the road sign, id rather know when my sumps leaking. It was the impact that made it go, not scraping. Although it did have quite a few marks.
Ah all is going to be cheaper to sort than i thought.
£45 for a new sump. £20 to trailor the car home and £20 for oil and filter which it needed anyway. Not too bad really.
Ah its not bad at all considering. 240gg's and it'll still do 40mpg easily on the mway.
Cheers bud. My pics dont do any justice. Even had a lad in a R32 flash me down as he wanted to see it and ask questions the other day. He clearly had issues. haha
Im a little worried about a notch. If you crash is HAS to be a weak point surely.
Link? Most advise to only go genuine. VW actually do a shallow-er steel one im going to look into.
Mines petrol matey. ;) 1.8T.
I did have engine raisers but really i need a notch to run them. It brings the sump above the subframe. But i also bring the drive shaft onto the chassis.
There was a stone in the road. Must have caught lovely between the ground and sump and there was a mighty noise. Im glad it didnt hit my fmic though tbh.
Yes it is a good example apart from a bit of paint damage on the front bumper. As for fuel comsumption i dont find them that bad. I did own another 14a for over a year.
Stage 1a. H&R coils. No rust. RR'd at 285/300.
