had a bit of a barney with local dealer today over the alarm my 172 has, they said it was aftermarket which it isnt. Inside mine has 2 wee black circular items, 1 each side of the pillar at the driver side and passenger side, plus the key locks the car and activates the alarm and is renault...

i get this quite badly as well, especially when on full lock and coming off brake on a hill and reversing back the way, tried to get it fixed and they said it was a quirk

final item on ncd for me, i opted for the £ 300 multi changer and they fitted a sony one which ISNT the one renault dealers fit so isnt covered when it furks up like mine did!! LUCKILY the problem with mine cleared - touch wood - but they mounted it in the rear and not under the passenger seat...
