when i had mt gf's LY 182 on the rollers, it was standard with 38,000 miles it got:
179 bhp @ the fly
148 bhp @ the wheels
On a recently calibrated 18 month old RR
Id go with BB, i know its not super cheap, but as Danny has said you can still play around with it and improve it, and they must work as people keep buying them lol
They not that bad! Admitadly 0-60 in 10 secs isnt Gti worthy lol, but they are not as bad as people say, iv done 2000 miles in mine and i never get bored when i get in it
Edit: Danny they are 2.0 8v, an evolution of the MK3 Gti 8v engine but with more torque, i literally go everywhere in 5th...
cable is a bit of an arse, i have written a guide on changing it so let me know if you need it mate.
The ICV is the thing on the inlet by the TB, has the pipe off the bottom of it that goes into the inlet elbow.
Two 10mm bolts removes it and a quick blast out with carb cleaner cleans it
Up to a cirtain coolant temp, the car has a rev limit of 6800 rpm, once coolant temp reaches a set temp, the limiter is raised to 7200 in the first 2 gears then 7000 rpm in the next 3 gears
yeah about right mate, mines on 125k with full history and mines up for £2350, and its got drivers armrest, 6 disc changer, climate control and a lod of stuff like rear axles bushes just been replaced, new front discs and pads, plus loads more:
Sorry for the crap pics, looks pink when its...
Exactly the same as mine lol, i think they are great engines mate, not that quick but mine averages 40 mpg happily and will go anywhere in 5th, so torquey
Many miles? Cani ask what you paid?
Lol its taken 40,000 miles (bearing in mind mines 134k total now) and i noticed the other day iv worn the accelerator pedal down through the rivets and the right hand side of the brake pedal lip is bent over, guess i push hard on the side when i heel and toe and when im braking normally lol...
Commonly known as heel and toe mate, means you can break smoothly as well as blipping the throttle for a smooth transision between gears, takes a while to learn, iv bent my Clio's pedals by doing it lol
You have no idea how jelous i am, LOVE IT
I would persoanlly not touch it, brilliant spec as it is! For that money too if you leave it and just look after it it should be worth that again
