You'll struggle to find anything worth buying with that power supply. Not to mention the rest of your system probably won't benefit from having one anyway. Don't bother
Well they could make anybody roll if that's what you're asking.
Kidding, yes they do they're fixed dampening, which isn't such a bad thing on a road car to be honest. But as said they're rather crashy when over bumps. i.e you feel them, a lot.
Spend the extra. Definitely don't buy second...
I would leave it. Like 100% as it is.
Forever.
If you feel the need/love to throw money at it, give it a nice coat of plush wax and some fresh number plates (even if it doesn't need them).
Then just stand back and smile like a trooper.
Probably mentioned but K-tecs suspension is Raceland's rebranded. They're not that bad for 300 quid, but too soft for track work and rather crashy as you'd expect for bottom of the market. You could do a lot worse for 300 though in all honesty, but try and up your budget a bit!
Nah not in the Clio, I managed to get it out once this year but it's been one thing after the other after I managed to get it mapped. Hopefully next year it will be doing more in different guise. It's a long term labour of love lol.
As I say it's horses for courses mate, when I went for the conversion, I much preferred the drive you get from ITBS.
It depends how you look at it, boost is arguably much more practical on a road car if you're looking for a nice easy drive and extremely fast, but if you need the car daily...
Well you've got some hanging around lend me one lol. If it's anything like the wheel though you might be waiting awhile :o.
Digressed a tad though, throttle bodies over cams every day given a budget
Suppose it depends on the state of either car lol. Nope, never! But in an ideal world you'd have both. I meant more that you'd still have pretty much the same power band as the standard engine by going down that road. To me at least it's day and night driving both a cammed engine and a TB one...
You could yeah, and it wouldn't drive as nicely as a TB car with your right foot ;) I think they're worth every penny, but in all honesty everything you say about your experience with ITBS just makes me think yours aren't mapped right Phil! I can fully understand why anyone would be against...
Gaz was doing well until he mentioned the Fiesta ST being more fun to drive than the Clio.
Not on this planet mate. Chuck a few grand at it maybe, then you might have something.
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
Nah silver mate, I sold the other set :)
I know, I've had rotten luck but the engine that I got BTM to throw in wasn't really what you'd call amazing. I honestly think it cooked on the dyno, I'd have to ask Matt really what he saw happening when the alternator...
lol no worries Andy.
And yeah as Chip says, I've seen a few high comp builds and none of them have managed to break 220, but like anything I wouldn't worry it'll still be fooking fast. And sound like it's almost hitting V-Tec too lol.
Yeah don't worry same boat different mug in this case lol ;).
If you've not bought the valves yet though dude let me know what you're doing as I may jump in if theres a few of you.
You bought the pistons already Andy?
Only reason I ask is if you're going to be spending all that money on the block to make it scream like a banshee I'd be tempted to go FI. That's what I'm contemplating at the moment. I almost spent 3 grand on an N/A engine but scrapped it as the return is...
