thats because there are only like 2 mechanics on here, rest are owners so people if they have a problem take it to a dealer.
youll need a diagnostics check, then that will tell you what it is for sure, if it is the map, from reno £80 ish

as said will be a few months before i can think obout saving for them, and need to speak to the insurers to see if i can get insured, im 20 for those that dont know.
obviously i have quite alot of experience driving ITB cars well car but i want to hear the overall impression of them.
whats the fuel like in yours, reliability, etc etc

the D40 range at all doesn't include the motor for auto-focussing some of their Nikon lenses, for example the cheap 50mm prime. See here for a photo of the difference - the D40x lacks the motor drive spindle.

does it go itnto all the other gears fine?
if not it could be your clutch/ selector fork, but if it just wont go into reverse it maybe the gate (dunno the propper name) or youve droped a cog = new box
