Well not really. Apparently the dc5 is smooth too as thats i-vtec. Its just the atr and dc2 itr have the old hardcore system.

You want to go in a atr. Its alot more noticable i found. Have you been in a itr?

My atr, which is different i know, will stay with my mates 172 off vtec with him pulling nothing but then my lump does have more torque. As said once on vtec it shouldnt drop out again. Simple way to put it is neither are quicker...;) Type R's have a slight dip in power before vtec but...

You've been lucky. In the clio's i did 4 gearboxes, 2 head gasgets and loads more... Sx i had the bottom end go... Glanza the turbo went... I've got a long list.
