Tht securing nut at the end just crack it off, once thats loose the TRE should come off.. Dont loosen that nut to far though or at least remember how far you turn it.

To be fair biggest fault he will find is the gearbox, possibly rear axle and he'l have to sort the rear brakes out every 20 miles

Best way to learn about cars, dont fix till its broken... Last thing you want to do is pull it apart and break it (not saying you will but you can disturb things and cause problems!) Car looks great though
