wire brush them and use brake cleaner on them, you dont have to use primer as the calipers are a porous metal, the first coat should sink in a bit and the second or third will build up to the proper colour. I used the spray Hammerite, which was less messy and quicker than a brush.
I found the Proxes to be sh*te in the wet, and tail happy when pushing it, no confidence at all. Michelin Pilot Exaltos on the other had superb in the wet good in the dry.
Well I vote Kenwood, all the Alpines look the same, and they look in my opinion, sh*te. And looks for me at least are a factor. Ive bought the top of the range Kenwood 3 years running now, partly cos i used to be able to get em cheap, but they are feature packed, look quite good (display could...

Im just about to upgrade to the new Kenwood PSW 9524 and saw a few other goodies - the amp which is a bit nicer looking than my kicker ZR600, and ive put a preorder in on the music keg too, as its a bit crap being limited to one CD of MP3s, and its more compact than a changer.
hope someone can help me too - a couple of weeks back i was driving and found i couldnt get into gear. Even with a lot of force it just wasnt shifting. If i turned the engine off put it into gear, then started it up it made a pdddddd sound. So i changed the clutch cable and the pedal assembly...
Thanks gaj, you make it sound so easy, it cant be any harder than a clutch cable or oil filter to fit though.
yup Billybhoy i got the ebay seats and they are excellent condition, gonna try and fit them tomorrow. Thought i might get them for a steal at £350, but the price rocketed in the last 4...
I know theres a couple of people whove done it, but is there a guide on here? I seen to remember something about using the rear seat covers on the existing cushions? What do you do with the fronts, drill the bolts on the 172 subframe?
Im definately getitng that kit, not the spoiler its sh*te, probably not the mirrors either. Nearly all the other kits out the are just too bland. The only others id consider is a maxi (bit expensive for fitting and extras) or the terminator (though i hate the phase 3 stylee grille thing on the...
