Once an engine conversion has been performed does the car need to have details on its registration changed. Or is the car still classed as the same vehicle but with modifications that only need to be stated for insurance purposes ??
As far as I know the engine size needs to be changed on the log book. I remember seeing ads for Novas and escorts with engine conversions saying thingls like "2.0 logged as a 1.4" etc so I think you do need to inform the DVLA.
errrr i think you have to inform DVLA about changes like that by law.....& you have to tell ur insurance company if the cc changes or your insurance will be invalid !!....(they wont cough up if anything happens)
if its the same size engine....then its just engine no
if its a bigger or smaller engine...then engine no & new cc
you also have to tell them if you change the colour of your car !
i think the reason some people dont tell DVLA is because they can get cheaper car tax for a 1.4 !!
ooops, still aint informed them about my engin. Oh well it can wait another month im sure, gettin the colour changed so will do them both at the same time.
