A little more progress made today.
I removed the heater blower and box ready to fit the little electric blower.
Then started to re fit the dash along with pod/ kill switch / gauges.
While I had the dash out I gave the flock a spray with suede die as it had started to fade in...
I thought mine were as I ordered hose kit with bulkhead. Seeing a few pics every kit looks to be different. I’ve seen one with bulkhead fitting, some with grommets. Also some with straight or 90’s off the master cylinder. 90’s would make the hose runs neater.
I got them fitted yesterday, but...
Looking very good.
Where did you make the bulkhead penetration for the brake line looks to be low down from your pics.
Also on the rear did you add any extra clips in the arch as my hose sits very close to the tyre.
Thanks for the heads up I have found M12-M10 adapters ifhr hose is wrong may be easier than sending it back.
With the grey wheels and head light blanks the car should be back to looking something like this
Yip i mind from before when i went to fit a R5 master cylinder to balance out the brake ratio when trying to fit the Porsche calipers that there were two different sized fittings. Im not sure if the full fat MC is different threads from the cup, that some kits have been mixed up ?
Yes Arran they arrived about a week ago , to my address rather than my parents where they were meant to go . I haven't checked them yet as not back in the UK until the end of the week.
I got tins mixed at my local Auto paints a few weeks ago, I painted my FG tailgate with them in the past and the match was perfect.
Black , green, yellow... actually looks good together
RAL 6018
Can’t wait to see it built up as it will really stand out.
I don’t think 6018 was used on anything in particular , more used as a base to blend from.
Looks like a really nice job , mine was a track car £400 2 day turn around job
Thanks I have seen those kits and will probably go for one later on .
Plan is justnow to get the car out on the engine thats fitted , as its already mapped by EFI with group N settings and was always a fast engine in Frasers car.
I will then fit the turbo kit to my spare engine and work out...
I picked up a few parts on a cheeky ebay bid last week , I know the 225 turbo and manifold will make install more difficult than the normal rear mount log manifold.
In the package I got ..
225 turbo (modified outlet so doesnt go over the head)
225 manifold
Downpipe
Oil feed
Ph1 fuel pump...
If I were to turbo the car later would there be an issue of fitting the cooler here, the rad could be lowered about 4" more
Way I see it would be less pipe run, still have good airflow from the grill, with a defelector plate should get less heat soak from the rad.
Nice work Robbie
225bhp NA was fast in a clio so can only imagine what 230 plus a load more torque would be like.
Whats it like for putting the power down ?
Ive started collecting parts to turbo mine later in the year but not wanting to have to fit a diff this time around.
Thanks Arran but I have , a manifold , turbo , injectors, inter cooler and oil pipes , ph1 fuel pump on there way 😢:tongueclosed: ,will still need to source boost pipes and a few other parts .
I officially suck at keeping to a budget , just bought a PMS rear roll bar for the car
My proline hose kit should be getting sent out next week to will get that fitted when removing the heater box.
Similar bought the same heater as Neil M so will have two intakes going to the center screen feed. Keeping the upper dash and some of the drivers side lower I think.
Well unless you want to do the wiring
Well glad I got the car running and most of the parts fitted as it will now be middle of Feb before I get any more work done.
I will have my hose kit to fit then along with tidying up the interior dash/wiring/ switches.
I ordered a small heater at autosport so looks like all the original...
Nope
Apparently he s waiting on an order of green hose. Held off fitting the engine as long as I could, just hope they can be fitted with engine in place.
