Phil Im home from work on Tuesday and hope to get my car fired up some point next week on my Pico 480 injectors, once I know its running I will send down my 172 ones for you to try. Saves buying new injectors to find out its a wiring issue.

Ive just skipped through this post so has anyone tried there whole car yet? Ive seen the youtube videos of cars in America being done and fancy trying it on my track car, for the price of a couple of nights out it must be worth a shot.

I mounted mine in the spare wheel well and fitted a inline breaker rather than a fuse so if it trips its quick and easy to reset.

Re: Road/Track 172 Yip I would think you would be looking at around £500 for the works spec loom. If you have the lead for the Omex you should be able to pull the file and email it , but to be honest I wouldnt have a clue how as never used Omex before.

Yes chip thats my point would have to be done by trial and error so could easily add up to more than the cost of proper cams, if i wasnt a 8 hour drive away I would just pay Mike to fit and time them. I have offered to rent or buy a copy of Mikes timing tool as I thought it may be interesting...

Mike did you ever get a power run with these after more mapping ? You have PM Im trying to decide whether to fit mine and pay for the time on the rollers to mess with the timing , or bite the bullet and buy uprated cams.

Re: Road/Track 172 To be honest Im not sure its getting sent to my mates house as Im offshore untill the 18th. I think Omex do custom fit looms , if not try CW-looms , they seem to have a good name in the cosworth world.

Phil im going to be running Pico injectors in mine, so I could send my standard ones down to try and see if it cures the miss if you want.

1. Is the vac supply to the carbon canister this can be removed but I believe it will bring a dash light on. On a side note if you want to sell the 172 coil pack mount give me a pm.

Thanks Chip I take it you would use the Aux 2 output rather than the VTech function on the ECU so you can set a cut in and cut out point.

I know its been covered before but never seen a post with a direct answer so dont flame me :) Im going to be running a Omex 600 ecu so as far as i can make out the ecu will run semi stand alone needing Direct Live Switched Live Earth Coolant Sensor Air temp Sensor Lambda Sensor Piggy backed...

2 of my mates have similar spec 106 gti's for the track and they leave my 172 , so having to add cams and Jenveys to keep up :)

Thanks I noticed alot of the kits have a mount that sits almost in the original position, but I would prefer to have it at the end of the head to.

Ive seen a couple of cars in the project section with the coilpack mounted on the end of the head, is this a mount that somone sells or are they a DIY part.

Im hoping to fit my 197 cams in a few weeks , hopefully to Mikes timing settings will be intresting to see how they work on a ITB car.

If you still have the Omex loom and want to sell it give me a shout, as going to order one next week from Omex if I cant find one before then.

Re: Road/Track 172 Well bought a Omex 600 ecu today along with a Reverie backplate for my filter to give a bit of extra clearance for the fuel rail. Just need to order up a loom and sensors from Omex while Im offshore so everything should be ready to get it running when I get home in 3 weeks.

Re: Road/Track 172 I left the original crimped end at the pedal end as it fits into a plastic pivot, for the ITB linkage end I used the fitting that came with the Jenvey kit. Its just a normal cable end with 2 small grub screw pinch bolts.

Re: Road/Track 172 Well got the manual pedal fitted today and the cable run, the movement is realy smooth and pedal position is almost exactly the same as the old pedal. I have also trimmed the front panel, moved the standard rad forward and started to remove the original wiring, im not sure...

Re: Road/Track 172 I bought the pedal off of ebay £20 with the original cable. Could you post a pic of the take offs if you get a chance, I can see the blanks of my manifold but they will need drilled and tapped for push fit fittings. I also have an Idea for the fuel line that may mean I can...
