Im going to be listing the recliners Ive just took out of my track car soon, passangers seat is on a fixed subframe with the drivers on a slider. Both seats have recline and a tilt lever for easy access to the back.
Black hard shell backs , with red stitching.
Ive actualy just removed them to...
Apart from my cosworths I've never done a box either but think I did 3 in a year in my first escort including snapping a main shaft in half:mad:, problem was an updated box was 3k but had to be fitted.
I did the same with the stat housing , machined up a boss and had it welded on. Wiring is easy...
Looks good
Did you chop the pillars off of the breather plate, I cut them off flush since there not used anymore for the coilpack mount.
Is there any risk of beating the syncros in the box with the short shift, I had problems with one of my old cosworth boxes cause of that.
So are you thinking of doing something similar to what they use to do when fitting cosworth managment to RS turbos , trigger wheel attatched to to the cam pulley then a sensor bracket mounted off of the head.
Re: Road/Track 172
Yip I noticed that and have emailed Simon about a possible change to trumpet size, torque is down everywhere until 5K where it then holds much better from then on. This is just a work in progress map so will probably change a bit even without changing parts.
Re: Road/Track 172
Got emailed a work in progress power print out , so here it is compared to my old spec. The ARP's are now in so will be reving to 7500-7600 RPM , and more mapping to smooth out the delivery.
I did think about a jump from 90mm to 110mm trumpets to increase torque , but as it...
Re: Road/Track 172
Its cool about the file as going by the power Simon must be getting on ok with the mapping from the original Omex one.
When are you away back to work ? Im not home untill the 5th so if its before that I will just wait and get the timing tool back later.
Re: Road/Track 172
Just had an update from my mapper he is waiting for ramp space to fit the ARP's so only reving to 7100 rpm, but has done some mapping up to that point and power is still rising and showing 176.6 ATW. Not wanting to get into the whole rolling road debate thing but its on the...
I tried one of my old Porsche Brembos inside a 16" Turini just to check for clearance, and think a 300mm disk would easily go with a fairly simple bracket.
Cars looking good not too far off now, what cams did you end up getting ?
Im hoping there is a couple of track days in November, or i will be propper pissed if I only get one outing in my car this year.
I will get you that number for tires when I get home as need to go get a couple of sets myself.
Re: Road/Track 172
Typical im away as i have a spare omex plug made up for connecting the ecu to a battery to check setings off the car.
I forgot to sayas it was my last day at home , I ended up buying another serial to usb adaptor from a local back street computer shop for £5 that worked...
Re: Road/Track 172
If you could email it to me that would be great, Im not sure if Sitech has started the mapping or not yet, have to say though the base map from Omex started from cold brilliantly and drove fine but kept it under 3K on the way to dropping the car off.
Not sure if im going to...
Re: Road/Track 172
New 15" track wheels bought :D just need to sort out some track tires ,then decide if im going ot keep my 16's as road wheels with normal tires or sell the Turinis with 888's fitted.
What as it ? Just seen your post and it sounds similar to the problem I had , unfortunatley mine turned out to be a damaged ecu which required a new processor board.
Re: Road/Track 172
I left the dash fed as normal all the unused wires from my old loom are cut back behind the gearbox , individually shrink wrapped then wrapped in a bunch and tucked back into the loom trunking.
I made up a beige for the fuel pump fuse to power the 12v trigger for the ecu...
Re: Road/Track 172
Yip omex told me I would need to run a 12v feed and the aux2 to the cam plug as its a switched ground, justnow I'm still using the standard ecu for this as didn't know if the switch points were set in the map and ran out of time. I have run the wiring from the omex aswell so...
Re: Road/Track 172
They were on the car when I bought it but they were from the group buy on here a few years ago, fairly poor fit to be honest.
Morgan the wiring is all plug and play bar you need to run an extra live feed in for the cam switch over and need to change the plug on the original...
Re: Road/Track 172
I got the ecu back from Omex this morning after a super quick 24 hr turnaround, to refit ignition amplifiers and change the processor that got blown due to them being removed.
Plugged the ecu in and the car fired first time, Iv balanced the bodies as best as I could without a...
Ive put a 14" fan on my radiator,I got away with tilting the standard rad forward at the top but will probably upgrade to an alloy one at somepoint.
That cam locking tool should be with you tomorrow.
Gaz Im away to China for a month with work on Thursday, but hope to get a couple of track days in when I get home.
They are 16" Turini's they just look smaller with the 888's, I'm hoping to get a set of 15" 2118's or Williams wheels for track.
Gave my track car a quick clean after finnishing the last lot of mods , just waiting on the ecu back from Omex then its ready for mapping.
Just fitted :
Sparco seats,
Center console
Engine Dynamics cams
Full belt kit
New dephaser
Omex ecu and loom
Jenvey 48's.
16mm front 15mm rear spacers
The guy I bought the ecu off is paying for it as when he sold me the ecu he never knew his tuner had modified it, so I really don't have a clue but from what he said its only a 5 min job to re install the amps.
