mine did this at first but the self adjuster adjusted after a week and it got much better
the biting point does occasionally change though and thats because of the cable moving about cos they just tie-wrapped it on and it moves about

i think pinking (pre-ignition) is when ur cars running too lean i.e not enough fuel
this is not good for your engine and would get it sorted asap maybe you could try a power boost valve

erm dunno bout 172 but my valver one was glued on and it came off after lots of pulling
some peoples seem to come off really easily and some have to be cut off
get some grips on it and give it a good yank!

could be the relay, try changin the bulbs and seeing if theres voltage at the light
if not see if theres voltage coming off the relay
otherwise check the connectors at the lights but unlikely if theyve both gone off
do a search for this theres been loads of questions bout it
but i think the answers were they dont really make any differance and not worth the money
unless you need to set the fuel pressure for running nitrous

rite these lights are for the clio1 1992-1996
ph1 clio1s (up to 94) rear lights are just flat, ph 2 clio 1s 94onwards are rounder
im assuming the lexus ones are going to be two roundlights under a clear casing but the outer lens isnt going to be shaped like the ph1 or 2 if that makes sense...
