Haha yeah I hate it not being 100% had quite a bit too do as well on the car and on the house but all on hold. If you look a couple of post up you'll see the calipers that were taken off on Sat and replace with rebuilt ones. @MarkX
Nice those wheels are they light? My 2118's are pretty heavy lol the spare set I have with my AD08 on are some multi fit bk racing and they're quite a bit lighter, but I think the 2118 are a rally wheel so pretty strong hence the weight.
That's unlucky that mate, Hopefully I'm getting a set for £110 off somebody if they're still available so for that price I'm gonna stick with them for now and maybe next time round unless a set come up cheap again try the DS1.11 or maybe even swap calipers too something like the brembo sets that...
I'm just looking on their site now and surprised the RC6 which I have now are £119 before I use the discount code so should be about £100. How much did delivery cost you @MarkX
Had @bloke swap over my calipers while replacing my track rod and end. Now have no more squeal when I brake.
Old passenger side caliper didn't look too healthy and seals might as well not be there lol drivers didn't look too bad but was binding.
Currently running CL6 and was debating on just getting them again as I find them good. Or trying something else to see how they compare the CL, looking at likes of the Ferodo DS3000 / DS 1.11 or (I know the DS 1.11 are more expensive price but are they worth the extra) or the anyone tried the...
Know what you mean lol I have a binding front drivers caliper so have spare pair (refurbished) waiting to be fitted on Saturday but my last day at Oulton it was in my mind thinking about it so didn't really give it a hard day.
Take it Carl got your drive shaft done ok the other day lol would have stayed talking longer but missus and baby were in the car and they both would have been screaming if I left them too long lol.
I've been impressed with them would definitely consider another set when the current ones need...
Hope you don't wipe dirt off like that on your paint work lol My dad was cleaning his car on the drive and his mate turned up and wiped his finger down the rear bumper where it was dirty and my dad went ballistic, gave him an ear bashing and told him to f@%k off while he cleans his car lol
Good thread I have just bought an oil cooler with thermostatic sandwhich plate off someone on here for my track car, bloody impulse buys lol swear since i got paypal working on my phone I've spent a fortune.
I have the CL not sure which and they have destroyed my lovely white 2118's lol to be expected but thought I could keep them clean (next time they're getting done black), I couldn't haha passenger side is pretty fugly now drivers doesn't look too bad, rears are mint (standard pads) Paintwork not...
Anyone know which way the shim needs too be fitted I'm assuming the rear wheel is facing into the car with that toe (like towards the front passenger side) ? So would want to fit the shim I have with the narrow part at the rear of the car get the wheel to come out a little.
Have some melted rubber on the rubber side wall (pic is worst one) and about 2-2.5mm of tread approx across the tyre. Not sure if just melted a little or pickup off the track? Seen similar for sale and just wanted too check.
Cheers
Seen this but @£49.99 seems a little steep http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-Clio-II-Laguna-II-Megane-II-Scenic-II-Caliper-Carrier-Genuine-Renault-/290961255831
Not sure if it will fit a 172/182 either.
Cleaned and sprayed the spare set of calipers I bought ready to fit with new fluid and track rods and ends before the next track day
Were yellow and dirty, Now just clean and Black (even though they look grey lol) Baked in the oven before painting too get them warm (not too hot though) and then...
Didn't realise they were that cheap lol think I've spent more than that buying and redoing a pair of 2nd hand calipers but like said carriers are what are hard to find. On the other hand it's nice too work on a spare set and know what goes where for repairs and maintenance.
local businesses and companies I would assume not sure what you could offer in return except the advertising. I was going to let my brother sign up my track car (he is a Ggas fitter/Plumber) in return for a set of tyres or something lol as we mainly do Oulton park and thats fairly local to us...
Are they fairly easy too fit? Assuming that I get it the right way round haha.. had a quick read on the pure fitting instructions but always sounds easier on paper.
What ducting did you use is it more rigid than like what is in markX picture? I was thinking like some hard plastic pipe or the foil type stuff. Have too move my cold air feed that goes too my maxigen filter first
Same here only noticed to be honest when I had it up on ramps checking the track rods and thought why has mine got the toothed rings on it being a cup.
