A current transducer is a sensor for detecting current without inserting anything into the circuit. If you use an ammeter you have to run the current through a known-value resistor in the meter and measure the voltage drop across the resistor. But the resistor itself adds resistance. Which isn't...
I guess the "Discuss" at the bottom means its not a serious question. you're just trying to start a debate/argument.
The fact is that some things are technically better than what manufacturers could afford to or saw the need to put on standard cars, especially fairly low-cost ones like Clio...
What was unhelpful was Renault being unwilling to say why they approve and supply a towbar for the rest of the Clios, but not on a 172. Its not the rear structure. The standard Clio towbar bolts in. The car's got more power. Its got better brakes. Would the weight of a trailer somehow interfere...
I've got an Australian Mk2 Ph2 172 so it has 195/50 tyres and 15x7 wheels. The offset for those is 48.5mm.
Here we only went to 205/45 tyres and 16x7 wheels with the 182. They, I believe have 45 mm offset.
You don't say what size tyres you're talking about.
15x7 and 15x6.5 wheels aren't going to produce any noticeably different result with 195 tyres. It's be a small difference with 205 tyres. It'd be a noticeable difference with 215 tyres.
15x6.5 would be lighter, especially if you bought ones...
Changing your front disks to drilled/slotted disks doesn't change your brake bias. It wouldn't have been changed unless you changed the calipers. Did you?
If you go to an electronics parts store and get a 9V battery and a snap-on connector to go on it and couple of alligator clips and connect it all up so the 9V battery is connected and supplies a trickle current when you disconnect the car's battery you shouldn't lose the trip meter counters or...
Replace the brake master cylinder with one with one that has a more-rear-biased ratio of front/rear piston sizes. Or change the rear brake calipers to ones with more piston area so you get more braking with the same line pressure.
Is there a variation of the Clio that has rear disks and more...

Read elsewhere in the forum and you'll hear people saying how much better the throttle response was before Renault changed to an electronic throttle, and they advise you fit a cable throttle. Trouble is that prevents...
It takes 12.7% more power (or 12.7% less weight - about 157 kgs) to get from a 6.9 second 0-60 time down to a 6.5 second time. That amount of extra power is about what 172 and 182 owners have achieved with induction and exhaust improvements. It might be more difficult to get them on a 197...
I need to tow occasionally for things like taking rubbish down to the dump and bringing things home that are too big to fit in the back. The dealer that incorrectly and illegally fitted the towbar was only willing to take it off and refund my money, but that would have left me worse off, I...
It has been proven conclusively that cars with big noisy exhausts get significantly worse fuel consumption that ones that don't. But that's because of the people who drive them and the way they drive.
I've been driving for 39 years. I've never had an at-fault claim. The only claims I ever had were when someone else hit me and I had to go to my insurance company to get my car fixed, and let them sort it out with the other guy and his.
In road safety there are a lot of U-shaped curves. One is...
What do you want, noise or driveability?
A smaller bore exhaust is quieter and gives better torque. A bigger bore is louder and gives better top-end horsepower.
When I complained to the dealer that the synchros were stuffed on my Mk2 172 he said why didn't you tell us there was a problem earlier, we might have been able to prevent it happening. I pointed out that I had. I'd complained to them that it was crunching going into reverse. To get that the...
I am willing to be convinced, so I went to the web site and read what was there.
It had all the signs of a con.
For example they admitted that if you put a car fitted with it on a dyno you wouldn't see any improvement. But they blamed that on dynos not being a good enough test to show up the...
Yeah, I made my Clio handle real well. I put a load of concreate pavers in the back. That made the rear end stick to the ground. More weight, that's what makes are car handle better. Right?

If its a WPN311 crashes with that card are a "known problem". Some people claim you only have problems if you do the install wrong, other people with problems claim they did it right and they've got problems anyway. Netgear has made some improvements but does not seem to be able to fix them. Try...
Given the pathetic volume of sales you can't really call it "winning".
I'd say the only winning bet at the moment would be an each-way one. A player that can play both HD-DVD and BluRay.
An iso is an image of a disk. Burn it and you end up with a disk.
What you can play it on is a matter of what format the files on that disk (image) are.
Actually its a good question.
It used to mean "bang rattle rattle rattle splutter silence", but these days it just means you're being silly and its time change up into the next gear if you want to go faster.
Engines used to actually blow up. You'd hot up a car and only find you'd hotted it...
I expected to find a big warning in the owners manual saying don't tow an automatic because the gearbox isn't lubricated when the engine isn't running. To always tow automatics with the driving wheels off the ground. But at least in the mk2 manual I have it says its ok if you don't tow it too...
Er, unless its a diesel, isn't 30 mph at 2000 rpm in 4th about right?
A 172 does 16 mph/1000 rpm in 4th, so there doesn't sound like there's anything wrong with 15 mph/1000 in 4th in a 1.4.
