Mine was hitting the limiter at bang on 7k with a thermostat failure. 7250 was the 172/182 rev limiter, the 197 and 200 are 7500, they don't hit peak power to 7250rpm according to the specs from Renault. Remember most RR operators won't go to the limiter if they have started to see power tail off

Yes, standard rev limit is 7500rpm, if it's coming in at 7000rpm and you have been driving for 30 mins or so then your correct, thermostat likely requires replacement. I'd fit a genuine one as the last couple of gates ones I've had have failed prematurely by actually breaking up
