Ha. Well if the next Galaxy Curve Touch One II was super amazeballs, then yes, I would swap.
But it's not just the phone now. It's got to fit into a system.
Will it have the apps I want and use everyday?
All my stuff (iMac/iPad/iPhone) sync with each other. If I buy a song/movie/book...
I'd be asking to get out after about 50 yards. Lol.
I felt sick as a passenger going round Brands. I'd sure as s**t be making a soggy mess of peas and carrots appear in his footwell.
It'll be software. Because you've messed with the baseband. A trip to Apple would be a bit pointless.

The only thing to do is not to use the next version.
It's the same as anything. When you first started driving the 1.2 or whatever you had seemed fast. Then you got something else. Went back and 'zOMG! This thing is slow' same thing applies to phones/computers.
It's out of warranty now so that doesn't matter.
Depending on where you're based, there's a number of specialists dotted around. I'd definitely take it to one of those for piece of mind.
P.S. It's not a Clio Sport.
I'm about as technical as a goldfish, however, that sounds like the emergency cut off.
There will be a big red button on the pass side by the battery, press it, then it should start.
