Congratulations! Lovely shots of the birth too. I'm amazed that the hospital have a photographer trying to sell photos, seems a bit odd to me. At least you put her in her place. :D
Good luck with the sleepless nights, you get used to it surprisingly fast.
I use tag & rename. It handles batches nicely. It can also look up cover art etc fairly quickly. I'm going to try a couple of the above now and see how they compare.
Such an improvement on the last model!
I really like these, but I don't think I'll ever own one. The way that my last two Renault Sports have lost value compared to other makes has put me off buying remotely new models.
Just building/ fixing hardware would get pretty boring after a while I would have thought, and is not necessarily a career path.
As ChrisR said, get in with a company as first line support, they will probably put you on a MS course and pay for it, then you can move on from there.
Awesome camera. I was so tempted to go for the 7 over the 5 but impatience got the better of me and I went for the 5 after all, it was also cheaper which sealed the deal!
Look forward to seeing your shots with it. 8 FPS too... that could be fun!
Canon are supposed to be upgrading the 5D...
How about putting the tripod on the table and either clamp it down or put something over the legs?
Another trick the Manfrotto has, just incase you were tempted to go shopping:
I know what you mean. I broke my old tripod and was going to replace it with a 50 quid job, then saw a Manfrotto which was on another level but 110, then saw this one which was a bit more still. I managed to justify it to myself at the time but it was one of my more impulsive buys.
