I've never been in a "standard" 172, but I love the noise of mine as it revs, full stainless exhaust is probably why.

Me, I beat a VTR once.

Never got above 125 in my ph1 for a while, then all of a sudden I was hitting 135 and stuff without even meaning it, must be to do with warming the engine up like a b**ch?

If it's a dynamique, may be an engine management problem, the car I got for my missus had the same problem, reved to about 3500 and took ages to get there. Engine management problem which was easily fixed and apparently caused by a bit of carbon in the air filter or some s**t.

X reg ph1, never noticed it on mine, probably broken.

I have 17's and it's lowered 45-50mm on eibach sportlines. Handles much better and theres no rubbing whatsoever... Although I had 5 people in the car and a full boot once for about 5 minutes and it didnt look too healthy ;)

Jesus £30 for wiper blades? I got a pair of Bosch once for my clio from a local auto shop for £5 each.
