Not sure what yours looks like but if its the same as most of them you can just pull the top off it, chop some off and put the top back on - works the same too

yep you can do that or get one from halfrauds which is smaller (shorter) costs a tenner.

If a ctr one fits a mk2 ph2, it won't fit a mk2 ph1 as the thread size is different.

Tell me about it, one has a 5mm thread the other has a 6mm one. I think the ph1 is 5mm.

The cap comes off, so yes you can cut it a length and recap it, however i didnt figure the cap comes off and just used a similar cap thing i found in the shed.

cheers for the replies guys im going to try and take the cap off and ill cut it down wich will save buying a new one.
what did you think of the reception after you cut it down and is it just like a piece of metal inside?

what?...you can take the top off it...cut it and put the top back on?
you do have to sand it down a bit as it gets wider towards the bottom and the tip dont fit back on but ther graphite so a bit tricky to sand i put it in a drill the thread end and placed some wet and dry on the end and sanded away
