You could compression test without the loom. I've done it with the engine out and a set of jump leads plus a bit of wire for the solenoid.

Just keep it boiling, they take a little while. Once you turn off the heat to the pan it will quickly drop below the 88-90 degrees it needs to open. ​

I've just measured the thickness of my 172 cup windows and my 182 with cup packs and the 172 cups are 0.6mm thinner lol! 3.8 versus 3.2 mm. ​

I've no idea if it is actually thinner, it doesn't have the same tint. Renault marketing ;) ​

I think it is only the windscreen that is different (172 cup has the 1.2 screen), the other glass is the same.
