Agreed. You will definitely need something to fill the gap. The 17-55 f2.8 IS is one of the best options for the crop sensors if you can stretch to it.
I also jumped from a 350 to a 40 and love it. Might be worth waiting for the next bunch of cash back offers if you are going to go all out on...
The 10-22 is one of the best, it just carries a premium on the price.
The Sigma 10-20 is also good and the Tokinas have superb optics and build. Both come with hoods that the Canon does not.
They are all designed to work on the EFS bodies and will work without any vignetting.
There is a...
Try a new cable first to see if that is the problem. I had that problem with mine, the cable worked on the old PC but refused on the new one.
Very strange and not possible to find an explanation for but that was it. I took my PC appart three times trying to solve the thing before I plugged in...

3 x 1D Mk III = 7335
1 x 5D = 1349

Facebook is shite for hosting photos. Get yourself a free flikr account or...
I use Vista at home and XP pro at work. I have had NO problems with Vista in the year and a bit that I have used it.
As said, most modern PC's can handle it without a problem so if you have a good spec, definitely stick Vista on it. You can ignore all the scaremongers that you will hear down...
as long as it is under 5 kgs you won't have any problems taking it as hand luggage. My back pack was over 10 when i flew in june and i had no problems with it. You just have to take out lap tops for the xray.
I always get better results using manual settings when taking shots of surfers/ kite surfers. The reflection/ glare off the water can mess with your metering so I normally meter off my hand and take it from there, checking the histogram to be safe.
It depends on the warranty. I just read the Sigma site and they state that their lenses have a 1 year international warranty.... IF they have the correct serial number on them and are not grey market items.
