It's insured. That's all that matters. They won't ask to see the MOT. When I booked it, they told me to have my insurance certificate with me but the guy never asked to see it. I wouldn't even mention it has not MOT. It's not relevant to them.

Look on YT to see how to put in DFU mode. Then set it up as a new phone. Then try restore but syncing all that stuff isn't going to be instant. Untick it all.

No. There was certain bugs in iOS4 which caused the 3G to suffer but they were fixed.
