Cheers @KitsonRis
So they look very close to bolt on compared between each other, maybe a slight difference in bushes. length though..... the rs133 wishbone looks near to 35mm longer. way too much for me to use, i need to gain 10 maybe15mm or loose that length from a shaft.
are you sure its not just the turn assist lights working? it illuminates one fog light as you turn below a certain speed.
could be a stalk issue if the dash is changing at the same time though.
@Twingo 1?? I know you are a busy chap but could you get me some measurements off them if you get chance? between the bushes, inside to inside and outside to outside and centre line of the bolt holes up to the centre of the ball joint please?
172 wishbones are the same width as GT items just have more castor. i have them and a 172 arb fitted
rs133 items are aluminium but pics make it look like they fit the same, they don't have provisions for the arb though. im assuming the extra width is in them and not the subframe itself.....
a...
So back with a little bit of work on the car, namely looking into the driveshaft issue I have/had. I was unsure if my driveshaft was knackered or if it was bottoming out under compression, removing camber and raising the ride height 5mm seemed to cure it..... Whilst chatting with Chris he...
Yeah stock and pretty much all it will give I guess. You can run 19 20psi sometimes. Im told they will do around 260 to 280bhp generally with the bolts ons and a map and im getting whats was expected. With an Rs250 turbo fitted it'll give some more on top of that
£4999.99 🤔
Came in the laguna gt 205 I think that came in both saloon and estate versions. Not sure if the espace/aventine also had the same engine. Then the meganes.
If its a 160 to 170bhp 2.0ltr turbo its not the one you want. If its over 200bhp it should be 👍🏻
We have a max boost of 17psi (y) the cooler works really well and intake temps were good thus not needing to go too wild with the boost pressure. The whole setup worked quite well actually.
its very wet, its was loads better yesterday in the dry so hopefully with a decent alignment and some good rubber it will be abit easier to drive in anger
So I got a little footage earlier for you all, nothing worth while though so once the tracking is done and I've sorted a few niggles I will get some more. I want to do a run on the same stretch as my old acceleration video from when it was still a 1149cc.
Here's some general waffle and bollox...
I need to get it on some scales really but I'm sure it was 950 to 980kg new, heavier engine now but a few bits missing too. Got to be close to 280/290ish bhp per tonne 🤷🏻♂️
I will tally up the cost later on today, the mishap with the box bumped the build cost up and mapping wasn't cheap but...
I've created a Monster!
Wow what a day, a long day. The car, pretty much untested was given a 140mile run up to Runcorn to see Chris @ EFI Parts. It got there so that was a decent start. After some calibration writing and building from the wizard we started to do some runs but things weren't...
I've taken a touch more camber out, filled up with petrol and loaded up the car ready for tomorrow. Chucked in some tools, spare wheel, jack and fluids just in case. I don't want to call the RAC for something silly. Paranoid much... there's a definite grumble from the drivers side shaft when...
Exactly like this with 100 more on each leg would be great. I asked Chris to do it like this on the 1.2 for the reasons above, made it very tractable rather than a massive slug of torque early on and it was like that for 2 years with no major issues.
I'd be mega chuffed at that, I will be asking Chris to keep the torque low especially early in the revs, similar to the old 1.2t map he did. Should put less stress on everything and i dont want to be trying to deal with mad wheelspin everytime I touch the throttle. A nice flat delivery will be...
Right it hasn't blown up yet (fingers crossed, touch wood, pray to the turbo gods) so all being well and I get there mapping is on Tuesday. What do we think the results will be?
Recap, its a stock 205/225/r26 engine, Miltek 3/2.75inch downpipe and front pipe into a 2.5inch mid section and a...
We are ready (I think)
Replaced some fuel hose and neatened a few parts up this morning. Cant find any leaks, or strong smells of petrol on that so all seems good. I did have a hissing noise from the map sensor, initially I though it just needed holding down tighter so I used a piece of scrap...
Need to grab some fuel hose tomorrow as a small section by my fpr is leaking, guessing I nicked it on removal or refitting but other than that its on the deck. Might need to tweak the camber a touch too. Then once that's done it's test drive time, yay 😁
