The vanilla is the basic board... there are four of five different models of the P5B. Deluxe - Wifi being the top dog.
Apparently different models are compatable with different RAM so I wondered if you were using the same version as me.
Packed the whole thing away last night and put it in...
^^ That is about where I am at.
I can't view the BIOS as the screen just stays black, it cannot detect a signal from the GPU.
Taking the CPU out is really the last option, by "re-greese", do you mean apply more thermal paste between the CPU and the cooler?
I read through pages and pages of...
I started a new thread as I am getting so pissed off with my PC!! You have had it easy!
Just out of interst, was your P5B the vanilla version or Deluxe? The Geil ram is not on the recomended manufacterers list but as it is sold together as a package on a couple of sites it should not be...
I dont have a speaker in the casing so there are no beeps. Tried with headphones but that does not work either.
Going to call the computer shop tomorrow and see what they have to say. Really can't be arsed to send everything back again! This mobo seems to have issues though.
I have taken it out stuck it back in again and have the same results.
After more googling there are loads of people with POST problems on the p5b's. None of the posts have a definitive answer on how to fix it. Unless you have access to a barrel of spare parts, it is not so easy to work out...
Rather than hijack somebody elses thread even more..
I have hit a brick wall with my build and google is not coming up with answers...
I have finished connecting everything up but get no video output from the card... the monitor recognises that it is connected to something (when the...
The fan on the card is turning so it must have power. The monitor cable is also screwed in pretty tight. I will have another go tonight and take it to pieces bit by bit.
There is no onboard graphics card, might have to ask somebody to borrow their graphics card to do a test.
Pc powers up, all fans spin, lights up etc but there is no video output. The card has power as the fan on that is also spinning.
The case does not have a speaker so I can't hear any BIOS beeps.... looks like a rebuild and start from the beginning again to see what it is.
I was hoping that...
I was going to finish mine off this evening but am just back from a BBQ and am completely ratted... playing with electrostaticsensitive things probably is not a good idea. Might have a coffee and try anyway. ;)
You are further than me... mine also arrived today. It is sitting proudly in the neighbours hallway and each time I go around to knock on their door to ask for it, I get to look at the shiney boxes, but they have fucked off for the evening!
Bugger.
^^ That is positive to hear! Same cooler as I have ordered and I have the E6600... with the P5B Delux. That should mean that I can reach 3.2 without breaking a sweat then?
