You can access the condenser through the front as its sat infront of the radiator.
Can do without removing radiator but I'd bet the radiator needs changing too

I've used that giant bad dragon looking tool a few times myself. Getting sus looks from the neighbours is the best bit.
Top tip for next time, use a microfiber to slide it down the stretcher. I struggled for ages doing it with gloves on as it was just so lubey
Threads look fine on those studs, what length are they?
I've never believed the spacers make it handle worse theory. Mine still handles great with 20mms on
We stayed in the Lapwing cottage behind the RAF base a few years back. The road to it was not 182 friendly if anyone is thinking of staying there...

You can typically find the actual panel in better condition relatively cheaply though.
It's an easy swap too!
