I am not totally convinced by weather Snow Foams strip wax or not, I just use Mega Hyper Wash though my Gilmour.

Scratch X and then SRP, as the Scratch X has the heavier cut, and the fact SRP polishes and then lays down some protection.

Working by hand you will struggle to remove them, a machine polish with some decent polish is the easiest solution, worth doing a search in the detailing section discussed a fair bit.

What other lens do you have and on what camera ? Neither will be that wide on say a 350D and if you own something like a 70-20 or 70-300 do you need that little bit of extra reach the 105 has over the 70 ?

Clean well with Meguiars APC or Einszett Plastic Cleaner, agitating with a brush if need be - old tooth brushes work a treat. Dress with Autoglym Bumper Care Gel, apply by rubbing it in well and buff with a clean towel. To revive very faded trim heat up gently with a heat gun.

The 182 Cup did not really lack creature comforts though, still had aircon etc, just was finished in cheap materials.
